Jimmys Ek9 - b20 to k20 s/c build


just read through this . one amazing build, I love the ktuned shifter wish there was a B series alternative.
How does it shift compared to a normal shifter

Its a very small and precise shift to say the least! Towards the end of my video at Knockhill I was mis-shifting due to 2 x OEM anchor nuts (which are welded to the chassis) came completely free and there was significant movement in the whole shifter.

Simple fix with washers + nyloc nuts :nice:

Will just have to spanner check it all more often as its quite stiff.

First off, I'm like 0.5 m short of hose as I'm not routing it under my damn car. Secondly, the mounting plate doesn't even align up with the cooler holes. Pretty sad as I paid like £200 for the thing.

Then, I snap the head off 1 of the 3 10mm bolts which goes into the Vtec solenoid.

My blood is actually boiling. :((

I'm surprised you even brought the tegiwa kit dude! I and others find there stuff isn't of a particularly good quality!! Just cheap Chinese parts rebranded! What's the plan with the cooler now then dude?

haha, I was thinking to myself when I bought it.. Surely, how could they get it wrong? :lol:

The cooler isn't in the best of condition either.. Looks to be one that's been on a self for a few years.

I've bought some decent braided hose off demontweeks - slightly more expensive, but hey ho. Think I'll just drill a slightly bigger hole in the mounting point.

Need to take the Vtec solenoid off again and go on the hunt for some bolts. They look to be M6 x 1.0mm x 50mm, for some reason 2 of the coil plug bolts aren't there either, so will get a couple of them aswell.

The tegiwa made stuff is junk, made my blood boil few times aswell.. Oooh js racing me likely!!

Is it a spoiler?

Finally got myself to knock hill again, bit of a shakedown prior to our nurburgring Trip at the end of the month.

All in all was good, feel much more confident with it especially as I didn't touch tyre pressures, only problem is everything vibrates itself loose, haha.

Best lap of the day was in my 2nd session according to logger, 58.45. Got a fair few 62's with traffic (think some of them could of been sub 58's too)! :((

Will be spending the whole day cleaning her tomorrow, little refurb on the lexan too as they're starting to go white already! Will get some pictures with the Gopro/camera.

Handles great! Loving it, can't get it to oversteer or lock the brakes which surprised me - despite stamping on the brakes at one point.

Between us we have 3 Gopro's, so many video's will be taken. :nice:
