Very nice Wazer. VeRy!
What FD are you running? Also if you dont mind me asking, what throttle body have you installed; size/make?
Regarding the Spoon monoblocks...I have tracked with them several times now. They are holding up very well. They are not as "good" as the Brembos that I have due to the smaller pad surface area. However, the Spoons are good enough for some serious track time, dont get me wrong. The smaller pad size does get to temp much faster. There seems to be a weird getting to temp stage, with my setup, which seems to loose brake response/fade, but them comes right back [carbotech xp8 pads are what I am using]. It might be the disks getting up to proper temps??? IDK, Very weird. Anywho--you are going to love your new calipers.
Touching on what stevenEK9 said about smaller disks, even with your new smaller setup, you will be hard pressed to over heat those disks with your weight/power car. Ive yet to activate the 2nd of three color strips on the disk, for heat.
Running a 5.062 fd mate, I certainly don't mind one bit - it's a HR 70mm butterfly tb which tapers out to a knife edged 76mm at the intake, this combined with the Karcepts 70mm RRC adapter plate.
I'm yet to test mine to their full capability to be honest as I've only driven it when it's very wet, with lots of aquaplaning on the semi's. I'm tempted to take her out now but I think I'd rather just wait till track (as tyre temps will be higher so then I can accurately comment on how the braking power is).
Ditching the ABS was a good idea to, although I still need to setup the bias - again I'd rather do it when temps across the front/back are up to track temps.
I'll let you know If I experience anything similar though, does sound pretty strange though! I'll be happy if it's damp, standing water and these tyres are pretty sketchy as I found out sunday evening
