im agreed on this one i have trouble understanding the txt talk and it also makes the person posting it sound like a bit of chavvy gypsy
No what you mean
I am in full agreement,,
i dont use text speak but sometimes i do type a bit fast and post without checking my spellings,, i write "teh" instead of the all the time and stuff,, will try and be a bit more carefull in future. you would think at 28 i would be able to write properly by now!!
When i type fast i sometimes miss out the g on the end of words ending with ing. I will be more careful though. Your definitely not getting old, I'm 19 and it pisses me off. take's twice the time to read the post
Change that sig picture TEAM EMPEROR
It means EXACTLY what i have written. The text speak has been more common of late & appears to be more prevalent amongst the irish guys.
Maybe its a location thing?
I fully support the ban of its use like everyone else
sum ov it is totally unreadable but the small amount of txt typin i use is practically pronounced the same and mostly obvious to make out unlike "der do" lol
u - you
sum - some
ov - of
dat - that
ppl - people
cant think ov any others i use and i dont always use the 1s mentioned above... the posts that annoy me r the 1s with ppl that cant spell... atleast 1 in this thread... there is a spell check in the top rite ov the reply box for those of u that might need it... find posts with spelling mistakes r harder to read than txt typin... no offence...
dont agree with any1 saying its mainly irish english american or wotever, sort of descrimination/profiling...
Must say I really disagree with this!
'txt' talk is really inconsiderate more than anything on an international forum. It doesn't matter whether ppl sounds like people or that sum sounds like some to you and me, it won't to people who's native language isn't English!!! They have taken the time to try and learn our language, do you speak theirs? Most likely not, since most English people are only fluent in their native language!!!
The fact that some of the txt speak sounds similar to the original word in English has no precedent on how easy it is to translate. Not to mention that sum has a completely different meaning to some which could easily be confused by someone translating!!!
Misspelling is annoying, but when people are typing quickly it can't be avoided. At least they are trying to spell it correctly rather than using words that don't even exist....
Us Irish members are taking a lot of heat here!I'm a mod on one of the Irish forums and there us rarely text talk, and if there is the user gets a warning and an infraction,it is very annoying, especially when there are members who arent fluent in English.
Warning/Infraction and a ban should sort it
aww josh dont be like that. i said i dont always use them words... and when learning a language u learn how that culture/country pronounce their letters to help u say the words. i understand where ur coming from with the "sum" meaning but the rest r pretty straight forward... and u dont even know me sayin i havnt learnt languages? im not fluent in any since they aernt used in my every day life lol. dont try to judge any1 u dont know. found that sorta ignorant but funny that u even bothered to write me a reply lol
