Hi mate,
Although I was responding to your post, it wasn't directed solely at yourself! It was directed at everyone who chooses to use 'txt' speak on here. Don't get offended, agreed I don't know you well at all, but I was not being ignorant????
My post was a general response to this thread, putting across my opinion of the matter, which i stand by. Just because I choose to answer with reference to your post in no way renders me ignorant, and I fail to see how it's funny either?
I have nothing against you WAZ, since I don't even know you! I was simply saying that I think it is inconsiderate of those members who choose to use text speak on an international forum where words can be easily misconstrued, and sometimes be impossible to translate.
I again disagree with what you personally say about 'learning a language', although indeed you do generally learn about their culture, and of course how to pronounce words and letters, this in no way makes it easier to differentiate words such as
people from
ppl......the English language is difficult enough with words such as
their, there, they're which are all pronounced the same, without throwing 'new words' that do no exist such as
der into the mix.
When I said you probably don't speak any other language fluently, it was a generalisation, I do not either, and turns out I was right
lol
And in reference to your initial post, stating you find spelling/punctuation mistakes more difficult to read/more annoying that text speak; why do you consistently post with grave punctuation mistakes? In some cases, with no punctuation whatsoever.
I don't think JOSH meant anything personally by what he said mate!
Thanks JIMBOB, indeed I did not mean anything personally by my response!
