2 hours later.......

AP dixcel slotted discs (basic discs not the FCR ones) and Carbone Lorraine RC6 sintered race pads, should slow me down well enough.....

Steering wise it'll be fine i'm sure, With the super lightweight Rega wheels, super light calipers and considering the wheel alignment I run ( -3.5 deg front camber) the steering is so light as it was, should add a lot more feel :)

Well steve what can i say, truly inspirational!!:bow::bow::bow:

Where do you get all the info for working on the car, haynes manual or what?

You could start your own business doing that kind of work!!:woot:

Don't have a haynes, got a copy of the civic and integra Honda workshop manual but tbh they only come in useful for torque settings etc

Just learnt as I went along by getting stuck in, love knowing how things work etc and have a fair bit of patience which helps

Cheers though, bit nervous about cutting my carbon bonnet tommorow :nerv:

Me too and its not my bonnet! Seriously i fcuking love your car mate really really do. Only things i would do

Add Cage
Remove passenger seat or replace with SPG
A black sunstrip (to be suttle)

Thats it!

I just love it!

What is it you do? I get the feel of an engineer? Sound a bit like myself when your talking about things and the attention to detail you've put into your car really only comes from engineering because of the accuracy and perfection required. Just my take probably completely wrong.

Anyway once again LOVE IT! Get yourself sorted on the Ring list matey!

Steven Riley...Mr Sheen

like i said man it looks really good!

haha cheers ian. Yeah i did a mechanical engineering degree at uni and now working as an associte engineer in an office, althoubh through uni etc i worked as a bicycle mechanic for 5 years

Sunstrip is on the cards, especially for the ring trip as my seats sit so low the visors are useless!!!

Wow ! ! that must of took some time. Looking gooooooooood mate !

Stevee!!

Awesome work dude
Have to take me out in this!
Keeping the Ej9 now looking at flats
Looks like you done a great job here! How u feeling up to an engine swap in mine ? ha jj

Cheers, today was productive......

All front suspension torqued to spec, track rod ends rebuilt with new boots/grease, everything back in the engine bay, brakes and clutch bled

Started up the car and runs spot on, let it run up to temp, no leaks at all so bled the coolant through also

Checked the gauges off the battery and they work, they are sooo cool too :D

Some wiring to sort then just panels etc to refit and front wheel alignment to redo

Just took it for a quick run down the road and back, no bonnet or wipers on the car yet but my mates garage is away up in the middle of no where haha

Feels VERY responsive!! The steering is heavy obviously when manuvering but once you get going the feel is awesome, not much stiffer to turn in cornering, just feels like a go-kart tbh

Will get the bonnet on tonight and sort out all the wiring inside as there's stuff everywhere, maybe get it out for a proper run, need to get the brakes bedded in before saturday

OH and for anyone wanting to know, to tuck the headlight looms you don't have to extend any wiring, bonus

Forgot to mention... The cooling capacity of the radiator is immense (takes 8L of coolant  ), when I ran it up to temp the other night the oil temp was rising quicker than the water!!!

Interesting how rubbish the standard temp gauge is, was showing bang on half way whilst the water gauge showed 45 deg and the oil 55 deg, oil seemed to level out about 80 deg at idle with the engine up to temp and thermostat open

yeah man i can second how crap the standard temp gauge is . when my water temp is between 45 - 90 on my gauge the standard cluster reads half all the time . yeah oil temp sits around 80 once up to temp sitting iddleing and will go a hell of alot higher at knockhill lol

What temps do they normally get up to on track? Whats a dangerous level? As in siht oils getting too hot best stop?
