2 hours later.......

Got the front hubs/uprights off today as well as the shafts/halfshaft and also all the wiring pulled

Just the fuel lines to disconnect then get the engine out tommorow, by the time I picked up the hoist today I couldn't be arsed, beers and pizza tonight

50 feet of cool-it thermotec wrap, takes ALOT of the stuff to wrap a manifold, used the whole roll :wow:

STEVE, REMOVE THOSE QUICKMOUNTS FROM YOUR NEW FAN AND FABRICATE SOME KIND OF PROPER FAN MOUNTS ASAP, THOSE QUICKMOUNT WILL WEAR THROUGH YOUR NEW EXPENSIVE RAD,,

SOMETHING LIKE THIS ONLY TAKES AN HOUR OR SO........

Really? I'd understand with cheap quick mounts which could allow the fan to move, but these ones (Pacet) have got an extemely good hold and the core seems to support them fine?!

Do realise they would put some stress on the radiator of course, but in comparison to the crappy looking quick mounts that Spal supplied, the Pacet ones seem decent

i still woudln`t risk it on such an expensive rad, get some aluminium and make up some mounts that pick up the factory mounting points on your koyo,,

have you ever seen a radio controlled car gearbox when the plastic drive gears wear out the aluminium drive gear on the electric motor,, wouldnt want this happening to your rad , (crap example but you get the idea)

anyhow just thought i`d flag it up, i have seen tehse quickmounts wear through a rad tube in a short space of time, see what time you have etc,, but i`d of thought it would be time well spent,, :drive::drive:

Looking well..Liking the full length rad..Hope you remember how to put it all back together

HAHA yeah, should be easy enough, grouped the bolts next to what part they came off etc, not that much wiring anyways

Up again working on the car tonight, pulled out the oem bonnet release cable, ABS ecu is out, also removed the brake and clutch MCs

Got the right size of bolt through for the sandwich plate so fitted that up with a new filter and filled the engine up with fresh oil

Also drilled out the rivets on my vin plate and removed it, wire wheeled and rubbed down the whole front slam panel etc and zinc primed it

Just got the subframe to drop out and some wiring and stuff to remove then can get on with painting more of the engine bay, should have it all in primer ready for colour by the end of the weekend

some good progress there steve, keep posting pics and keep up the good work,,
