Just got my EK9 here she is...

Hi Matt
I have been watching your build up, looking good. But what is wrong with your gear box?
Dunx

Hi dunk nice to see you keeping an eye on your old cars :)

I'm not entirely sure what it is yet I think either syncros or a damaged selector fork could be the problem (i'm not that clued up on gearboxes tbh) but 1st and reverse are usually a little difficult to select sorta two stage when you push the stick forward or down after coming across then the other week at work I tried to reverse into my parking space and could not get reverse at all so I had to drive in, at the end of the day I had to push the car out the space so I could drive home.

I have reverse back now due to applying atlot of pressure to the stick (more than I would have liked to) but its very clunky.

Oil, bushings and gear stick have been changed and made no difference.

Minor update new cam cover fitted and DC2 airbox on custom brackets more to come soon hopefully :)

Cheers man I have a mate who is a painter and pretty damn handy with a polisher so once we have finished a little project :naughty: we might have a quick once over the car :p

Nice car mate well thought out mods. The cam cover looks goods something different. :)

Lovely car mate :nice: ever find out what the 'Fuji coins' were?

Thanks Joe, As for the coins still a mystery to me. I keep finding them too found one more tucked in the edge of the carpet by the firewall when I was running some wires through.

Right OK as promised I’m home from work now so lets get on with it.

Well when I last updated this thread I was progressing along nicely I was trying not to spend to much money and get some savings back behind me so I was just making little purchases.

First off I decided I wanted to replace my horrible tatty plether gear stick gaiter so I had a look on ebay and found a shop selling genuine leather tailor fitted gaiters for £9  that sure beats paying £30 for the OEM Honda red stitch one which isn’t leather.

I have to say quality is amazing real leather and great fit one of my best ever ebay buys (little things please little minds I guess)

I saw Livvy had a bit of a tatty fibreglass bonnet available I quite fancied a lightweight bonnet but I didn’t really want a black bonnet on my car so was perfect for me the idea was to tidy it up and practice some painting and use it if it came out all right.
Here's what it looked like after a little prep:

About the same time I decided I fancied having a sunstrip and after JAE I had a spare banzai sticker too ,

I had a little bit of good luck in the form of this purchase
Nardi350mm.jpg

Which I picked up for an absolute steal I really like Nardi wheels but never thought id be able to justify the cost.

Since then I have added some gauges and fitted my Nardi steering wheel, I also found an awesome set of tailor fitted chequered mats from Japan for a brilliant price I have been told these are very popular and expensive in Japan, either way I like them all the same. I chose a Works Bell Splash short hub to mount my wheel on as the dish itself brings it close enough for me.

Oh and I decided it was time I finally used the car for what I intended a bit of weekend track fun.

Thanks to Duncan for taking the time to organise it I've defiantly caught the bug and Ill be doing a good few more track sessions in the near future, God knows I need the experience as most people from here passed me but hey ho it was my first time I had fun and most importantly the car is working perfectly.

Thanks for reading this epic post I hope there is at least a few things there that people like. I’ve already had a few comments on the lip and I know its pretty Marmite (love it or hate it) but its mine and it just makes it stand out from the rest.

I've got an hks hi-power with blown baffles, which is soon to be replaced by a spoon n1:dance:. Tbh i don't really find it loud inside maybe im just used to it now:lol:

Sorry to hear about the crash mate, but glad you were alright and didn't have to scrap her... :)

The camo is different, seems to be a lot of people going down the route of covering panels and that in stickers, a bit on the fence with it to be honest...

The nardi wheels is a thing of beauty, and nice find with the leather gear gaitor and checkered mats, it's the little things that make a big differernce :D... Think you should go back to the oem look at the front though, always thought you had one of the cleanest pre-facelifts on here... :)

Keep up the good work :nice:

Bad news about the crash, glad you got it repaired though. I think the camo lip looks pretty cool :)
