Whats tyre are you running EK9 ONLY

My friend, tyre fitter, said to me my tyre pressures were too high, he showed me how the centre was worn more....
I had 34F 33R or something like that.
He said drop PSi
This was on 195/50/15
And I noticed some a few of you say you run the same size at 40/36 :|

If you are talking about the 888's Bon, road may be different - I have not used them on the road, but on track you need the higher psi otherwise they tend to slide around & understeer more, grip was much improved at 36psi imo.
Tsuchinoko - 55 & 50 - take a look at the MF calculator, top speed is very slightly reduced on 50's, as for which is best its down to personal preference, some think the 50 looks to small, I think the 50 has slightly more feel, but not a lot in it.

Hi the reasons i was running those pressures is because the T1R's are so soft my tyres where literally flat with them at stock pressures. Even now they are not great. Side wall to soft imo.

Roll on R888 my mate talked me into 195/50 today... All about performance @ the end of the day.

Toyo R888's fitted and so far very very impressed nice sidewall nice turn and very very very very sticky! Warm up lovely.

Only done 50 miles if that

GG Medium compound

Cousins running them on his UKDM Teg, they stick to the road like glue :drive:

I had R888's on my RX-7 before I got the 9 - amazing grip and surprisingly good grip in fully wet conditions but the 17x9.5 rears were a little expensive

Thinking about them for the 9 when the RE010's are shot.

Cheers,
Alex

agreed they are awesome i have a set on my track rims,

Just watch out for standing water on the roads the R888 doesent lke it one bit, last summer when in germany we were driving back to our hotel from the ring when there was an epic deluge of rain, must of been about 5mm of water covering the road and it was scary on the r888`s, damp conditions are fine as i say just watch out for puddles and seams of standing water,

all to common on our poor condition roads in the UK tehse days!!

i have got yokahoma advans ad07 on 195/55/15 jus for road use only and i think they are pretty good would like to know wat other people think of them

I had AD07's on mine when I got it, loved them, but they were bald as **** so had to replace them, discontinued I believe now too?

In my experience damp was the worst - the big grooves on the R888s dealt with lots of water better than they did with a light covering.

Booting a RWD car with R888's on a damp concrete-surface dual carriageway = wagging tail :)

Yes i have herd this but as my car isn't used that much thought these would make a great summer tyre then parada spec2's or Rs2 for winter months...

So far very impressed with them although travel only 2 miles from work the tyres where rolling and bubbling up already

Don't think these are going to last to long... :angry2:

well not a 9 but hve the stock 9 dampers with spoon springs & 9 rear sway bar too... [not the welds tho] :D

888 all round medium compound too tho 205/50 front and 195/55 rear :nice: all good!!

not cheap option but grip is VRY noticeable... tho i would avoid wet cond

I'v had the toyo's R888 on the front for the last coupe of months, done about 2800+ miles on them and they are on the limit now:angry: they don't last long like, but **** the grip, iv had no problem with them in the wet either:nice:

Will probably get some RS2 next, heard good thing about them , just hope they will last longer than the Toyo's

Ive tried a load of different performance tyres, I stick by Falkens in 15" with my daily wheels on now. Last about 6000-8000 miles per front pair. Superb all round. ZE512, but its just been superceeded again by another model ZE912. Cant fault the softer grades. :nice:

stock suspension :p

make sure they have sold you GG compound and not SG compound,

SG is a hillclimbing tyre and not suitable for track use or road use they are incredibly soft compound, designed to work from cold, a couple laps round a track and they`ll overheat..

Parada Spec 2's and RS2's are not even in the same league :p
