Whats tyre are you running EK9 ONLY

Well I ran with two sets of rims on my 9, one set with T1R's and found that running at a lower tyre pressure they worked better for general road use! The other set were perilli P6000 these I ran at a high tyre pressure and they where a harder compound tyre but it all depends whY the main use of the tyre will be!!

I did high mileage in my 9 so wanted a hard waring tyre for the winter and a soft tyre for the summer!!

Good luck on what u choose!

Dunno why everyone slating the T1Rs, ran them on previous cars and just fitted a full set to my EK9 and very impressed with them. They can't be all that bad!

Depends how you drive though.

for nromal driving im sure they are fine, and to be honest, aroudn town any tyre will be fine, its when you open it up on back roads that you want decent tyres, The T1R's had very little grip when cornering for me, also in a straight line to be honest. They were rubbish at crail

for daily drive etc i use the yokohama parada spec 2 in 195/50/15

and for track etc i use toyo r888 in 195/50/15 soft compound

Well i have done some fast driving in them and they grip very well especially in the wet! rarely wheel spin in wet whereas always spinned in previous cheap tyres.

They are alot cheaper than other so performance tyres too. 150 euro delivered for 4 from camskill :)

I don't see the point in ek9 owners only posting since everybody has different suspension once modified the only difference becomes the seamwelding... but i digress, not an ek9 owners so i'll just see my way out...

And what if you seamweld too? haah

I've got to agree with Supernova on this!

but i also think it depends on tyre pressures as well! using the T1R's on a track you need to run more tyre pressure in the region of 40-45p.s.i

but i also agree with Blink's as soon as its modified different aspects and again everyone has a preference, plus different people like different feed back from the road.

Ian what ever you choose good luck.

Thanks for everyones input. Sorry to offend blinx i just wanted to get a feel for what other EK9's are using. I know a few peoples set ups on here so it gives me an Idea.

All i really want is a stiffer side wall and probably going back to 195/55 15 i hate the 50 profile.

Grip levels of the Proxes 4 and T1R and Yokohamas i've had in the past have been perfectly accptable along with there life. Whats i hate is tyre roll in corners. Obviously the proxes 4's didn't show this up to much as they where low profile 16".

Cash flow is a little tight after wrecking the EK4

I think i'm even more confused.

I don't want to change my wheels, i don't want 195/50 now put off by 205 50....

Im running Yokohama Parada's, not sure whether there good or not? havnt really drove my car much as im not insured till AUG :(

Gonna go for Hankook RS2's when these are foooked....

What size are the paradas dude? 195/50? Do they look small too...

Potenzas on mine,I cant fault them for grip,a bit noisy but who cares!

ian, if you really want the cream of the crop tyres you have no option to import set or find importer, some mentioned in this thread arent available in u.k anywhere (tyres ive wanted to try for many years)

as for rs2, very good tyre, ok on road but come to life on track and great value now, ran them before they were even launched in u.k many years ago before bandwagon caught on

hankook has launched the rs3 now but not available in u.k as i expected

best tyre ive personally tried was the AD07, many other id like to try but cost of importing is just too much now

No offense taken, it just seams like your limiting people from helping you, it only affects you so as long as you are ok with that so am i :nice:

R888's all round, but it's a track car only and isn't even registered....so I don't know what kind of life you would get out of them on the road.

Bridgestone RE55s look the dogs danglies, can't get them in the UK..but could import them easy enough.

Hi guys i've decided that a hard core set up requires a hard core tyre. Its mainly a toy for me anyway and does very little run around driving.

Toyo R888 in a 195/55/15 (Prefer the 55 and Honda must have put this tyre on for a reason?)

Just hope the sidewalls are much stiffer than the T1R's

Thanks for everyone's help my winter tyre i will try a set of Falkens out as recommended by EK9TURBO.

Just a question, between profile 50 and 55 what do you people prefer, I'm asking in a performance way, in other words witch is faster?

Hope you understand my question, my English is terrible :angry2:
