Well I had rota group n's on my old civic for over a year and they were second hand - cant fault them in any way - car got constant abuse and always seen potholes (well when i didnt manage avoid them) around my area (roads are terrible). Even sold them on to my mate and they were fine on his car too.
The biggest reason rota's got hated on is because they copied designs which most people detested, this led to them getting bashed every day on and on so when someones wheel broke in an accident (also on more than one occasion) (which is common with a lot of wheels, any wheel can break in a high impact crash) everyone bashed on the quality of the wheels.
I've even seen mega expensive wheels bend after one pot hole (used to work in a car wash - seen a lot of diff kinds of wheels with damage)
I say who cares what anyone thinks - its your car, if you want rota's buy them.
If your scared about them braking and want to listen to all the forum bandwagon superstars who know everything about wheel stregnth and design carry on and dont buy them.
