Uprated grooved Disc's (Don't have to be JDM!)

So, for track twice a year and fast road use, stick to stock discs and uprated pads is your suggestion?

I was also adviced this the other day @ the MCR-Vtec meet mate by iceman off hear!
He was saying he has tryed other disc & pad combo's but found best to use stock disc's & uprated pad's!
Unless you are going to go the whole hog on a full break setup!:secret:

Cheers Jimbob.

Might just do that and go for a full setup later down the line.

ADL Blueprint were around £95

Are you reading my mind or something! LOL:clap:

I was @ buddyclub uk last week talking to paul & he said he could do me a set of 6 pot stoptek calippers & cant remember the make of the disc's (but apparently one of the best), plus some custom bells to fit & hawk pad's For around £1000 which i thought was very good price considering the price of spoon & such!:nice:

Well that is the setup he use's on there DC5 Time Attack race car so i would say it must be a good setup!

Well just thought i would let you know for future Reference :secret:

Set up on front, spoon capliers tarox 40 grooved disc with ferodo ds2500 and RBF600 brake fluid.works good a round the track found it does not fade or the pedal does not go spongey. Like my std disc were getting to hot cooking the pads ferodo. Ready 4 my next track day march 7th.:D

Discs & pads is as usual down to personal feel. I would say that you should spend circa £350. The reason being that if you are going to be doing one or two trackdays, fit the best you can to get the most enjoyment out of the day (this always comes down to driving/braking style anyway), secondly you might get a taste for it and end up doing more days, fade is the last thing you want - it ruins your day.
I have tried road/track (on the EK9):

Brembo slotted & Hawk pad - very good.
Dixcel FCR & type Z pad - very good.

Sure you will get dust, when on the road - clean more eh, but you should aim to have a seperate set of alloys for the track so it wont matter.
My last car I ran PF97 pads, cant remember the disc, better than both above setups imo, but the cars oem braking system was also better than the Honda so not a true comparison, downside is the PF97's are very dusty & they squeak.

just get some brackets fabbed up for tehse rebranded brembo callipers, will be cheap as chips

Comp B4 Pro Race 7 Racing Caliper

Cheers for this olly:nice:
I cant belive i dint not know about this company as i live about 15min's down the road!

I have been on the phone to these guy's this aft!
They do not make anything for fittment to the EK9:((

Well after being on the phone for about half an hour he as asked me to take my stub axle off my 9 & take it down to them!
So i am taking them my stub axle on monday & they are going to get some drawing's made up & then make them up on CAD!
So hopefuly they will be listing a complete kit for our EK9's!

He did say that they would be able to put a better kit together if i was running 16 or 17" wheel's for obvious reasons!
But as most of us prefer to stay with 15's on our EK9's i said it would be better to design a kit to fit under 15's!:nice:

Ill keep everyone updated on this as i know more!:secret:

All you need is a decent 15" alloy to run real big brakes - offset/clearance. Either way they make very good brakes. Keep us posted.

So I'm thinking about getting the Brembo slotted rotors and also I still have a new set of EBC green pads. My question is should I buy the slotted Brembo's or just buy OEM Honda Blanks or Brembo Blanks??

I only drive my Ej6 to work and home.

Any suggestion???

Group buy to bring your cost down? :)

I did mention this to him as being a part of EK9.org & could post get a few people intrested & he said he will sort somthing out but we could talk more about this once they have it all sorted out!:nice:

I am hopping to have these sorted & on my 9 by our track day on the 7th march!:secret:

Whach this space!:D

Would the fitment be the same for a DC2 with the 282mm disc & standard wheels??

What brake pads would these calipers need??
