Toyo T1R's Vs. Yokohama Parada Spec 2

The Toyos are really good in the dry and safe in the wet. The sidewall is soft but there's pros and cons to that. Softer sidewall gives you a little bit more to play with as you can feel it flex before you lose grip (max slip angle)

Paradas imo are bloody good in the dry. Best dry tyre I've used although in the wet the only word I can use to describe them is dangerous, but then you wouldnt want to drive hard in the wet anyway. (doesnt give the tyres a proper chance to warm up)

I'm on the Re01s at the moment, wont be able to get another set im sure so i'm going to take it easy on them until the weather gets a little better :D

ive got the t1r`s and there mint allrounders in dry and wet.
Wen i bought my car the previous owner had budgets allround and they were so bad in the dry and the wet.
So I would advise the t1r`s

I have PS2 now. I love it, loads of grip on the dry. In the wet they're certainly nothing more than average. But I wouldn't call them dangerous. They're also a bit noisy. But if you want outright grip on the dry and haven't got too much money to spend, take the Yokohama's, In the Netherlands they cost only 50 euro's a piece in 15".

Had parada's before on my H2B, in the dry their AWESOME! in the wet, you can fell them slide without doing much lol, i didn't have faith in them in the wet tbh, used to drive like a granny!

Just bought myself some T1R's! hope they don't let me down, anythings better than nexen though lol

agree with most on here
ive used T1S which are crap
PS2 good in the fry, grips well.. different in the wet though...

Just got my T1R's. A little less grip on the dry compared to the parada's but the wet grip makes up for that, fantastic tires!
Feel much more confident actually going out in the rain and driving normally while with the parada's, used to **** myself lol.

How about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3, I heard they are better then the Toyos T1R and grips well in the wet, but not sure how it compares to the PS2

GSD3 grips awesome in teh wet, i havent tried them on an EK9 though,

its difficult trying to get a tyre thats good at everything thats why i have my bridgestones for road use and my R888`s on another set of rims for track use :nice:

I currently have Michelin EXALTO PE2 and it provides so much grip in the dry and wet. I would recommend that but it costs alot, it lasts long as well :) Havent used the GSD3 or Toyos so won't know the difference.

Ok firstly i have to show the experience.... one season irish time attack
i have used
prada spec 2
toyo r888
yoko a038

the prada are terrible!!!! i love yokohama but the ps2 are siht. Now the thread wear was 300 on the set i got.. so check before buying.

i recently changed to r888 on front and a038 on rear... 3.5 sec a lap faster on 1 min track...... insane diff... i also use ps2 on my road teg type r and notice there are not the best... i had a539 on before these and even though thet are a cheaper tyre i found them better than ps2..

PLEASE DONT BUY PS2:nono:

No, dont get T1R. The Eagle F1 performs the same in every area except a bit better. These are both more of a winter tyre for wet countries. This was in 1 of the tyre tests in 2007. Eagle F1 probally the best wet type tyre.

Michelin exalto is good but bit pricey

Theres another yoko model S-drive which is quite good from many users and reviews.

A nice all-round tyre that won 2008 tyre test in AU is the RE001. But its only available in the australiasia regions.

Eagle F1 GSD3s on my Ek4, awesome grip in the wet, and pretty good in the dry too but you can definately feel the soft sidewalls.

Have RE01Rs been discontinued? Cannot find them for sale anywhere in the UK?

i have goodyear eagle f1's they are only £50 a tyre and handle very well especially in the wet. im not sure how they would do in the dry against the toyo or yokahama but will certainly outperform both in wet conditions.
seen as it always rains in england i tend to go for the best wet handling tyre.

I've used T1-R, Goodyear Eagle F1 GD3, A048, R888, A046, AD07 and dozens of other mainstream tyres.

As above, for all year use, endurance, wet grip, dry grip the T1-R and GD3 F1 are brilliant value for money.

They have softer sidewalls than RE01-R, RE070 etc but for road use they are perfect. On track with heavier, let track oriented cars they can induce understeer through sidewall flex. But on a 1 tonne EK they will be fine.:)

AD07 is a brilliant tyre but not E-Marked and wasn't used as OEM fitment so legally, you maybe in the **** if you're car gets checked out. Both wet and dry use they provide brilliant levels of grip and inspire real confidence.

If you are reading this Yokohama UK, get the AD07 E-Marked!

T1-R are so good for winter and wet asphalt (in Italy on flat country only two times on year snow).
But they have soft sidewall, not the best.... I notice that the rear is everytime in delay when I change consecutively direction two times. But I've /55 sidewall, I suppose with /45 or with stiffer suspensione they don't show this problem.

Anyone tryed Bridgestone R001 adrenaline.

At the next tyre's change i will fit RE010 for summer and winter tyres on winter.

re01r was tested better than neova in every test, slightly tho.
Sidewall flex isnt a bad thing, the tyres wil provide more contact to the surface and wear evenly, lighter and in some cases perform better. Having hard sidewalls is only good for sharp turn in.

Im using re001 in all 3 of my type Rs. Probally Best street tyre. Eagle F1, T1R, dunlop, conti 3 etc all fell behind re001 in the 2008 tyre test in AUS. Too bad u cant get them in UK or US.

However, eagle f1 came 1st in all wet tests.

Well I just put 4 new T1R's on my car and am very happy with them. You can't go wrong with the price either!

How does soft sidewalls effect your car and handling or does it not matter for road use?

Thanks
Andy
