Tegiwa Manifold

This is where i'm in a tricky situation because although i've had problems its the price of a certain DC Sports manifold that keeps me interested.

DC Sports Race Manifold - 4-1 Ceramic - FUNKY POWER

Thats the one i had on my B18C and I can assure you it provides the gains this was probably the only bolt on mod i felt that made a huge difference !!

£285 is a steal, I was prepared to pay that and if it broke i'd replace it.

I think my biggest problem with this particular manifold was the heatwrap i put on it as DC Sports basically tells you their manifolds will fail when wrapped, also this is the main problem with corrosion as the heat wrap can stay wet (personally i sprayed my heat wrap with DEI thermal/waterproof paint and it worked a treat.

No matter what you choose just make sure you upgrade to a 2.5" collector (dont forget to buy the donut gasket). You maye have fitment issues if you dont already have a decat to fit 2.5" collector.

Also to add to the argument you have to decide between 4-2-1 & 4-1

If its BHP your after 4-1 is your friend - also on a B18C i think is the best manifold - for a B16B you might be better with a 4-2-1 for the midrange torque.

what was the ground clearance like with this mate? did you end up flattening it atall? im torn between tegiwa and one of these

ground clearance on a 4-1 mani is crap compared to a 4-2-1. I have pics of the clearance of a tegiwa mani fitted on my b18c and i'm near sure the sump sits lower. Will try sort up pics later...

Said i'd post pix of my tegiwa mani fitted so here they are...

First up, here's the weight of the original 96 spec itr mani:

Now here's the tegiwa mani weighed...

A few pics of the ground clearance:

After finishing fitting it:

And here's it after a 12 mile test run, browning nicely...

Hope this helps lads....:nice:

Bisimoto V2, that's the B series variant! It's a work of art :)

4-1 is always gonna be lower than a 4-2-1

It was pretty good though, I did hit it a couple times then raised my car as my car was pretty low, once it was raised just till the tires were at the same height as the arches i never bottomed out on anything.

So i guess it depends how low your car is and how low you intend it to be !

I will always swear by 4-1 over a 4-2-1 for power especially on a B18C torque & horsepower

Seems Tegiwa is the way forward then? Any update from people with these fitted or anymore dynos on a B16B for these?

Anymore reviews of this mani?

Was the rear bracket ever resolved? I know the Fujitsubo manifold has 2 brackets at the rear to accommodate the two different engines.

Can you wrap the mani safe in the knowledge that it wont result in cracked welds?

just got mine :)

here some close pics.

some pipes seems a little off :((
welds look ok.
i like the cnc flange !

what you mean the pipes are off? welds should be fine because they are all done by a robot!

maybe the robot had a crazy Saturday night and was shaking a bit when making my mani :)

oh and since you named its something common that happens to other high class robot weld headers like spoon,j's and todas they tend to break on the welds :secret:
