Tegiwa Manifold

Like i said, most headers from the US dont even supply brackets as its not essential

I will get a fix for this asap

As said brackets are not essential, especially since this manifold is gusseted about the primaries

Never ran a support bracket on mine and been fine, as long as your engine mounts aren't shagged you will be ok :)

I promissed you some pics before, but haven't had the chance to shoot one lately.
I think I can post something up by tomorrow or saturday!

Tegiwa are you considering making one of these?

Possibly, but probably just something to bridge the gap.. just waiting for an engine to come in so i can fit everything and see whats what.

100% agree!

All those people complaining about the lack of torque on the b16b!
If i wanted torque i would have bought an ep3, I love keeping the rev needle dancing and the engine singing in order to drive my 9 fast, it just adds to the experience and makes it 100 times more exciting then driving other type r's IMO.

I prefer the b16b to the b18c purely for the theatrics of driving my 9 with a high pitched whine all the way up to 9K-ish!

Dont you have your car up for sale at the moment? Nice to see it's treated nicely :naughty:

Little update for everyone interested.....

My car as it stands

Full mugen Twinoop
Resonated decat
ITG Airbox with cold air feed
Tegiwa Toda V2 replica manifold

Unfortunately, straight from the off there were problems with the fitment of this manifold. Already highlighted is that the bracket doesn't line up due to the fact its based on a 98 spec so I expected this.

What was quite annoying was that one of the holes (second along on the bottom row) did not line up with threaded hole in the block. It was a few mm out so we had to open this out as otherwise the manifold just wouldn't have fit.

Once on, It did look nice and very quickly turned a nice gold colour.
Don't have printed figures yet but from memory it made 2.3 peak whp over the oem manifold. There was power lost in certain places through the rev range but hopefully with s300 installed I'll see more positive results.

I'm back friday for a full s300 tuning session so stay tuned........

s300 next month for me too.....
lookingforward to seeing the results.

To take advantage of collectors tegiwa in your configuration you need the S300? It seems a bit absurd. A P30 remapped not enough?

S300 may be a little overkill at this stage but I may have other plans for the car in the near future and the S300 seems to be one of the most capable ecu's from what I understand so it's just futureproofing.

Mapping is being done by Will aka EK9 Turbo ( Doncaster based )

Ok results in !! It was a long day and I never got home until 1am as there was a job to be done and the freezing cold was definately not going to stop us.

Firstly, I'd just like to say what a proper nice guy Will (EK9Turbo) is. He's obviously a really well clued up tuner and really does genuinely care about his customers and I honestly can't praise him enough. I went there off the back of other peoples recommendations on here and I was certainly not disappointed.

Car was dyno'd on a Dynapack so all figures are power at the wheels.

Without tune the maximum gain was minimal with this manifold (2.5 hp peak I recall) but there were minor losses here and there also and Will said he thought he could get these back. I'll try to get these graphs up as soon as I receive them.

Will put the car through the necessary checks before installing a wideband lambda sensor and knock sensor. Tuning then commenced and approx 3-4 hours later of Will working his magic and me making unlimited coffee's these were the results..........

I've not had all graphs through digitally yet so photo'd the main one that shows the baseline graph (oem manifold) against final tune with Tegiwa manifold and s300 Tune.

Peak power has increased from 129.9 to 141 which is not massive but this doesnt tell the whole story. Looking at the graph there are gains all the way through the rev range and as much as 25hp around 6000rpm. I don't know if this is due to the manifold, Twinloop, Itg Airbox or tune....or combined affect ?? Personally, I think it's the tune that pulls everything together.

What I do know is that the car which felt strong before is now so much better. Will took his time to get the best possible tune with my setup and it really does show now. Extra Power is evident but its the smoothness of the power and the throttle response not mention the shift light and launch control that are added extras on the S300 that really bring the car to life.

I was told that any restrictions could be down to the manifold or the twinloop. Who knows? I guess you can only work with what you've got and I don't care as I'm really happy with the results either way.

We concluded, there are certainly better manifolds available but the Tegiwa one seems to represent pretty good value for money if the car is tuned well with it and at the moment I'm happy I bought it.

Hope this helps anyone thinking about a purchase and let me know if I've interpreted any of the figures incorrectly as I've only taken cars to be tested on a dyno a few times so dont claim to be an expert.

Some good results there bet your happy now. Will is a top lad, knows his stuff :)

+1 to this, he is a genuinly clever lad!! has time to talk to you and explain what he is doing when is mapping and setting up the S300

you'll hear from me soon as i want one of these headers.
i have a comptech header at the moment and it is so poorly designed IMO.
fair enough the only other header i have had has been OEM and Feels honda twincam so my experience is of the best and stock so obvisouly the comptech hasn't really had a fair review form me but i think its ****.

these are 2.5 colector right ???
think my comptech is 2.25??
should mean for a good gain eh..
