REAL vs FAKE

I'm sure with takata's the main point is -

Make sure they have 4 'cross stitches'.
Very unique takata green (where most copies fail)

Also, is it me or have takata's gone up? I've seen got alot of sites selling them for $450! Bought mine for waaay less. :nice:

My mate recently bought a takata harness, that he says is real and it does look very similar to that one there, but it feels really cheap compared to my TRS 3" is that right or should they feel alot less 'flimsy'

takata seem to be a big topic for fake goods. waltons look ace! mine are just shitty sabelt! lol

That's a pretty good read, never knew theyre doing fakes of wheel nuts and LCAs now :|

people that pay the price for takata's are just fan boys.

theres plenty of harness' out there that are just as good for atleast half the price

Should not be flimsy, stitching should be A1, buckle should be metal not plastic composite. The rear of the buckle should have torx screw not normal screws. The The front of the buckle should have a dry carbon centre cover (is stuck on but is not cheap carbon wrap sticker). All the harness clips and tensioners should have the proper coding's stamped on them. The box they come in should be proper black on the inside and not flimsy either. The overall weight difference between fake and real would be very noticeable in the flesh.

Could argue that about a lot of things mate, but if you want to buy a bit of JDM culture and status you have to sacrifice a bit extra to stand out from the crowd. i.e. buying TE37's over grids....both will do the same job but I rather the original JDM design for its reputation as one of the best lightweight Japanese wheels. Takata offers this same stature in the form of safety gear. (I acknowledge that Willans and TRS will do the same job but just dont tick all of the boxes for me personally haha...and they look cack)

Takatas FTW

Good info there:nice:,help warn others before they spend there hard earned cash on fake crap:angry:

Very good point!

A lot of people talk of how we all now pay a premium for Spoon and Mugen products because of the fan boy status; yet its hard to deny like Takata and Te37`s the price is justified for the solid reputation of quality.:)
