Nice Starlet Glanza engine..

Lol everyone with an ek9 near owns a starlet. I'm going to get pics of my glanza at 200bhp and ej9 b18c together lol. great wee cars.

as my username would suggest i also owned a ep91 untill 6weeks ago!
i had it running 0.8bar and i tell you there isnt an awful alot between it and my ek9!

a 160bhp glanza will in my opinion take a standard type r

but as much as i miss it the type r is miles ahead in handling, easier to live with and is slightly better on petrol:nice:

Used to have an ep91 aswell. Loved it. Was around the 170bhp mark and was pretty quick.

My friend used to own a gt to.. Was a little weapon.. He also changed and now has an ek9.

my type R stock was even with Gary(PP member)'s old 170BHP GT then 4th gear i started ever so slightly edging him. My EK9 now beats 200BHP GT's without too much problem especially on the motorway.

Yeah we dont mess about :nice: Unfortunately my starlet wont be out to play for a long while but when she does it should be worth it.

And your right about the muppet section!!

got a few nice bits like clutch pack lsd, miracle x brace, rollcage, power fc, blitz front mount, trd coilovers, trd steering wheel.

need to know more about that 2.0 conversion aswell, what mounts? how much custom work? any links to any build threads?

cheers

I want a glanza with a LHD conversion for daily drive! 55km/gallon!

Custom solid engine mounts,
custom radiator
custom gear linkages
Custom piping
Custom drivehsafts
Custom pedal box
N/A celica ST185 gearbox(slightly smaller to give clearance on tire)

Used half MR2 and half starlet wiring loom.

Thats a quick brief of a few things.

Alot alot of work involved and alot of money, you could save a bit obviously doing the work yourself but parts alone very expensive.

Allow money for a mappable ECU too. I opted for the Motec which wasnt exactly cheap.

Then obviously you need some good brakes and suspension set up to.

Most wont go for this conversion as you can build a nice 5EFTE engine and easily get over 300BHP with decent drivability. The 2.0liter is amazing though, so much bloody torque for a tiny car.

Thats a crazy amount of work Dan! Well done getting yours to that level mate, I love starlets!:D

I suppose the work you put into get the 2.0litre into your starlet is the about the same as putting a k20 into an ek9!

Yeah i suppose in a way dude but there are no kits whats so ever for this conversion. As far as im aware im still the only one the the UK with this done, ive heard rumours of another one but no signs of it yet. There are very few in the world. Less then 10 easily. Again far as i and others know.

So its more costly for sure. A heap of work involved.

Cheers bud, i have put soo much time in the car its unreal. Well worth it though, just cant wait till i get some money together to build it to a much higher spec. Want to hit 10's up the quarters once its done. Big challenge on a FWD car with that much torque :nerv:

Ok OK check this out.. try doing a search for one of these.. EP85..

Its a 4x4 starlet.. they never came as turbos but my misses has one that we fitted a turbo engine into.. So now it 4x4 turbo.. kinda like a mini EVO!!! lol We also put the full GT kit on it so it looks like the real deal.. Except the Diff hanging out the back!!! lol

Its great fun to drive an as we did'nt hav room to run the exhaust to the rear due to the transfer box being in the way we had it custom made to exit out the front bumper!!! lol

You should see the looks you get at the lights !!!
