Nice Starlet Glanza engine..

I sold my 1996 starlet glanza, a couple of months ago :(

I took this photo at the race track, nice engine by / modifications!

Its a big photo. Hope you like it.

What engine is that, it doesnt look like the 3s-gte, I dont know what the starlet came with, That is a beautiful front end though. Simply beautiful.

HELLO welcome to the forum.

This is a 4efte JDM engine. It came on the toyota starlet gt, and starlet glanza, its a 1300 cc turbo engine. 135 HP (not sure)

Here is a photo of a stock 4efte engine on a starlet gt :D

Im gunna google this car. Im likeing what I see!! You really gotta love toyoats stock piping. They make some interesting things. My friend has a 93 MR-2 Turbo with the 3s-gte and is now pushing around 500hp !!! Good strong motors from toyota. Nice stuff!!

I had one,

They have a "boost controller" by default, which you can setup your turbo for LOW AND HIGH.

In low it runs with 6psi of boost, with high, it runs 9 psi of boost.

I boosted the motor tu 12 psi on high without any problems, at pump gas, great motor!

I sold this car on june 2006. Great car!

I LOVE IT!!! You guys get all the cars I only get to see on Gran Turismo!!!

My only question is this, wouldnt the intake air heat up by going right over the turbo manifold like that?

On my HKS pipe + filter yes, on the stock one, nope, if you see on the stock one, it has a black box, that takes cold air to the intake :eek:

Thats why i dont like to use aftermarket intakes :)

Its funny how toyotas make those nice sleeper cars...Never seen/heard of this car but it looks sick, and also the ae86..TRUENO cant get any more sleepier then that lol.
 
I just bought the wife a black Glanza at Xmas. I put some new 16" white wheels on and all the local boy racers keep asking if we will sell it!
She loves it. I hope the EK9 Ive ordered is a lot quicker though because I will be disapointed.
Toyota sell them with a gimmicky low/ high boost button, but niether make it boost fully in first and second gear. There is a trick which involves swapping over 2 pipes which disables the low/ high system. Why would you want low boost anyway???:)
 
The ep82 GT model didnt have the boost limiter, only the later ep91 glanza. Although the ep82 had the same hi/lo button (0.45bar/0.75bar) Bit daft really! Really good little cars, i had a GT for two years and it never let me down once! The liitle buggers can keep up with impreza WRX's and the sort. good fun!

my m8 has a glanza runnin 208bhp proven...he's runnin a td04 turbo from an impreza in it...
 
I currently have a Glanza.

275hp, 250ft torque.

Power to weight of over 300hp per ton, but I am thinking of something a bit newer..modern and all motor.

Like a B18C EK9! :D
