My slow but sure EK4 build up!

Car is stunning bud :nice:

Could eat your dinner off the engine , if you allowed that Lol

You have done an excellent work mate!
Your engine bay is awesome:bow::bow:

I hope to shave and tucked mine too...

Holy mother god man!!You nailled it!!I believe that you are nuts but only in good meanings.. Excelent work man a true ek lover I suppose! From now on you are a hero in my pc and definetly a wallpaper!Respect man beautifull work.

wow mate this thing is awesome. i read it frmo the start to finish.
can't actually believe how nicely it turned out.
hmmmmm might have to get a cheap run around and get down to it this winter.
how long did it take you from start to finish.? roughly.
thanks again

Cheers man, I started it in october 2009 and finished it in september 2010.
Some really long nights, cold winter nights, worth it in the end tho.

If i had a proper heated garage i coulda done so much more, but a freezing cold garage in the middle of winter, just after finishing work is not the most appealing place to be!

So your talkin roughly a year, but coulda done it easy in about 3 months if i pulled the finger out i reckon!:D

EBC USR BRAKE DISCS FRONT MG ZS 2.5 2001-2005 on eBay (end time 09-Jan-11 16:39:09 GMT)

any updates "ted" while im posting here :nice:

Nearly right man, lol! the first ones were 4x100mm 99% sure they were off the earlier spec MG ZR 180. Can't remember now!

Not much to update, i redone my rocker cover in OEM wrinkle red, fitted the same brakes in 5x114, new set of T1Rs on soon, thats all i'm afraid...:((
Would love to go down the cams and Hondata S300 route in the next year os so...:naughty:

Love this build thread mate! How did you attach the battery tie downs to the boot floor? If you have any more info and pics I would appreciate it. Cheers pal

Sorry man, thats all the photos i have of it right now. Waht i done was butchered the OEM tray to allow it to sit flat. Drilled holes in the corners and tightened bolts into them.
Then ground back some paint off the boot and welded them to the boot floor.
The idea was to be able to fit the rear plastics without disturbing the battery tray.
Think most of the pics will show it if you zoom in...

Maybe its cos i'm getting older, but i have changed my drivin habits since i built it!
I only give it beans every now and again, its too loud inside! Too many guards around, would you believe i got 2 points for givin it a blast in 1st, then 2nd, then straight into 5th, cos i made noise for a few seconds! Wan*ers.

In a perfect world, i'd rock a supercharged b18:nice:

Cheers for that dude, gonna be putting some of that into practice this weekend! You might be hearing from me again if I get stuck! :)

Not a bother man, i'm only a PM away if ya need to know anything...:naughty:

part of me was thinking of that too i'd love the tourque or a supercharged b18 and i think that is what a lot of vtec engines need Low down tourque....
Hmm i may just save up and go K20.

purely as there is a thread here called B18 conversion and alot say it is a lot of work to get 20hp and 20lbs more. where as k20 with a remap i'd be looking at 230hp straight away. and all the tourque of the 2.0 litre.

Its all about the monies though in the end.......for the time being i will keep looking about for inspiration. like yours...

you said guards ?? you on a military base of some sort ??
