My J's Racing Intake Installation...

I think the OD is the same, just the ID is bigger with the ITR TB. So it will fit no prob.

its not, itr tb can be bored to 70mm, try doing that to a ek9 tb and you wont have a throttle body, just a pile of alloy:lol:

Legendary thread!

So, I should have a J's intake when I get my 9. Seems like the best setup would be to have a cold air feed and an enclosure with a hole at the back.

Don't know of anywhere local to me that could fabricate this...don't trust many places round here or have confidence they know what they are doing.

So, for now can somebody explain the stock filter modification? I saw one post where lots of the stock intake setup was removed. Why?

Dont know if this has been mentioned in this thread before but i thought i'd share my experience with anyone thinking on getting on of these.

As easy as the intake is to install; my car come form japan with a Cusco master cylinder brace which made installing the carbon pipe a pain in the neck.
The brace sticks out around an extra inch from where it is mounted and obstructs where the pipe for the intake is supposed to got. This makes the pipe rub on the cylinder brace and also forced the pipe to sit higher than usual so it rubs on the OEM strutbrace. Because the pipe is forced up the filter which is already HUGE:)D) is forced up also which makes that touch on the bonnet a bit when the bonnet is closed. Also, the L shaped bracket that come in the kit wont reach the filter as it is raised up.

The rubbing will prob cause some cosmetic damage to the carbon pipe which you wont see but i just wnated to point out that it can happen if you have this piece of kit installed before you buy the j's intake.

On the up side this kit sound real nice. Deffo worth the money alone just for the noise :clap:

Has someone got some dyno sheets or something comparing the J's racing to other intakes? Also, very cool to see all those airboxes :clap:

I just bought a blue one....... tell me J's made blue ones aswell as red ones.......

Not all filters are oil sprayed. Not all sponge type filters are oil sprayed either.

Apex'i = dry filter

Spoon = dry filter

and others.
