Was a good first outing, rocking the new Spoon suspension (Thanks Matt :nice:) and AO48Rs up front, but with Eagle F1s on the back. Because of the tyres the car was a little un-balanced, and I was constantly fighting off the oversteer. Thanks to some dodgy advice from the autocrossers over on Honda-tech, I was running higher pressures in the tyres than I shouldk have been (a failed experiment, won't be listening to them again) and when I lent the car to my mate after he snapped a driveshaft on his EF9 he dropped 10psi out of all the tyres and ended up beating me by 1.73 seconds, the swine.

Results from the day are here me way down in 12th, my mate Matt Price in my car up in 6th. Needless to say I am impressed with the cars performance keeping up with the Minis (No.3 Gregory Pauls is supercharged!:nono:), I think it has potential to win me some trophies this year! :drive:

Best one from todays offroad event in our new aquired Nissan 200sx, getting the hang of the drifting!

thats a great pic :)

looks like a nice day......and fun!!!!

It was epic amounts of fun. We used this venue about 6 weeks ago and it was terrible, the mud churned up so quickly and the ruts were a nightmare. Today the temperature (bloody freezing) kept the ground solid and the runs were a lot more consistent. I was slow as hell today, 21st out of 40, but had so much fun driving the thing that the times were completely irrelevant.

your ek4s awesome. pure stealth machine

Thanks man! I really like it, I am always thinking about what to get next but I simply cannot think of anything that can compete for all round useability and value for money. When the time comes, I'll probably just keep it as my run around and get something silly like a TVR or RX7 for the weekends. :nice:

A few more from today:

Me doing that handsfree drifting thing where you just let go of the wheel and let it spin. Works bloody well!

When we realised we weren't going to be fast, the other guys in team and myself agreed to have our own challenge, who could get the most sideways through the fastest gate on the course shown here in front of the Scoob. The fastest guys were making somehting like 40-50mph through this.

Toby's first attempt, turned in to early and over corrected, meaaning he went though the gate at the wrong angle.

Matt's first go, demolishing the inside cone (we eventually got told off for mashing so many :naughty:)

Steve Wells (member on here) goes through backwards...

And my attempt. After getting too much angle and parking the car parallel to the gate taking out the inside cone (again), my mate manages to get me just pulling off as he was chatting...

Matt finally nails the winning drift, clearing both cones with an impressive angle. This was taken at a different angle to the others, the inside cone is just skimming the corner of the front bumper.

We'll be taking this up to a DWYB event at Santa Pod soon, can't wait! :))

Looks good.

How do you like the Ferodo Pads? Are they dusty? Grabby initial bite?

I rate them very well, they actually make less dust than my pattern part rear pads, initial bite is actually very good and not grabby at all.

Nice... would love to see videos of this

I have got a few, I'll stick them up on you tube at some point over the weekend. :nice:

A few more shots from the latest event.

Spec changed:
B16A replaced with J700OCKs B16B
Front brakes upgraded to MG 282mm with EBC grooved discs and yellowstuff pads with ABS disabled
Yokohama AD08 front tyres.

Coming round the final 90 degree corner usually had me sliding sideways in to the stopbox, bloody close to twatting the cones.

Finished 7th overall, 5th in class: Results

Just managing to hang on to 3rd place in class for the overall championship, I was hoping for a win this season but the arrival of a tuned VX220 has really screwed that up!

This car wouldn't be a problem if it was just the owner driving it, but he lends it out to about 4 other people who all managed to rag the absolute arse off of it and push everyone else down the leaderboard. I'm not bitter, honest...

This car took 1st, 2nd and 4th positions with 50.32, 50.59 and 50.67 seconds.

Dan Morgan in a bike engined grasstrack racer took 5th place with a 51.52

Andy Williams was .03 behind me with a 52.36 in another bike engined grasstrack racer.
