Jimmys Ek9 - b20 to k20 s/c build

Running a catch can on the standard 'Rocker cover' breather + Crank case breather to atmosphere.

:nice: Horses for courses, that breathing system works great! :nice: Used the same on many allmotor builds without any raised crankcase pressure

Cheers will! :)

The Engine has been 'run in'. Just waiting on the custom airbox to be fabricated so it can have its final run on the Dyno! No point in those itb's sucking in hot engine air.

do you have pics of your breather and catch tank set up?? would be muchly appreciated fella :)

Not at the moment mate, When I get a spare few mins I'll go take some for you though! You looking for the routing of it?

wow!! when u think u will get to drive it properly then mate?

hopefully u can still make it to the trackday, ill be taken mine on :))

When I get it, so I've been told. :nerv:. Will certainly need to adjust to it though. I'm still on for the track day - Hopefully my flight back to Uk from my Det will not be late so I'll be able to make it:clap:

yeah please fella, the to and from of the pipes to your catch tank, i need to plumb mine in but on not on where to join stuff up to.

Well, made it back to the Uk with plenty of time to prepare for the knockhill track day on the 6th of May.

Since photobucket is deceiding not to upload any of the new pictures they will have to wait till tomorrow I guess. :angry2:

Little update:

Need to scan and upload the dyno report, but It's currently making 249Bhp at the crank, pretty good considering mostly OEM parts (Valvetrain ect.) have been used!

Possible future update, new exhaust system as the twinloop may be restricting the air flow.

Hopefully picking it up either tomorrow or monday/tuesday if the bumper has come. Will get plenty of pics when its in my hands

No no, not yet. :(( - I've had trouble finding a Facelift Ek9 front bumper so it can be MOT'd. Dunx said he might have one, however Its a case of getting to reading then to silverstone to sort it (All my mates are busy, Sigh).

Other than that, a ek9 front bumper is on it's way from japan (Slightly delayed due to ash clouds however). I'm hoping it will be ready for next weekend! Would hate to miss out! :(

Sounds like a major pain the the a*se. Looking forward to hearing the throttle bodies, shame it wasnt at SRR :((

Haha, you nailed that in one mate. A logistical nightmare ha.

Yeah its taken longer than expected, but I guess it's the nature of engine building ect. I'm sure there'll be some events in future where you'll get to hear em'! :D

I know all about hold ups! People keep saying it will be worth it :p

Very Nice build! Congrats on your accomplishment in getting that thing done.

Well, after quite possibly the worst night/experience ever.. I kinda killed it after all that hard work. Sigh.

Here she is :(:)((

I feel so horrible inside about getting rid of her, after all shes been through - and the history aswell. From being a fairly high comp turbo motor in Japan, then being put back to stock, and now a high comp NA motor. It seem's a waste!

If anyone on here knows anyone or even owns the right equiptment to put it right, please do it!

After a long hard process of summing everything up.. I've decieded to re-shell it, being the cheaper and easier option for me at this moment.

So the new shell... Massive thanks to livvy. Can't thank you enough! :nice:

Here she is:

Livvy's shell should arrive tomorrow at the garage, I'm still trying to source another dealer who can help me move my Ek so work can begin!

Plan's so far for the Shell - Full, custom roll cage (Poss. to FIA standards), Racing style dash with full digital display (still not 100%, as I love dials/clocks tbh). Tein mono-flex with pillowball uppermounts and EDFC, stripped out completly. ooh and let's not forget.. The Engine!!

Will update when the ball starts rolling!
