Jimmys Ek9 - b20 to k20 s/c build


interested to see what figures it ends up making, regardless of the final power its still going to be one mean machine and fair play!!! Even if its "only" 210-220 thats still going to be quick enough for some good fun :D
 
Sounds like an interesting build,

Just to clarify some points, 1.8 crank with 83mm bore if for example using b18c length rods wont be any where near 2.0 it will give 1883cc Darton sleeves nasp will allow for a much larger than 83mm bore, some where around 86mm iirc.

Any how, on a B20 for example the best ive seen out of stock CTR/ITR cams is just under 230bhp and that was with crazy compression.
Generally these cams will make peak around 8200rpm on a B20 with mid-highy 11cr.

Who is building the motor?

Either way good luck with the engine build.

Advanced motorsport (Near silverstone) are re-building the engine and transmission. Most of the engine work will be done by dan turner - You may of heard of him as your kinda in the same dirction as him. It's costing a fair amount to be honest.. I'll always be willing to chuck a bit more at it.

I know I had the opportunity for a K-series swap but I just wanted a really good example of a B-series (sad I know).

Cheer's Daz, I hope so aswell. Should be another 3-4 week's untill completion.

Yeah I know AME, they are about 10 miles from my unit:)

They have a good rep for tuning in the AEM set up.

What CR are you aiming for? I am bringing over a few sets of S2 cams next month so if you wanted some worthy cams let me know we can add to the order and cut the postage down. Pro's would kick arse on your set
up and push towards the 240/250 area with relative ease.

Wow, so close! Hmm, I'm aiming anywhere in the region of 12-13.5 compression ratio.. I May be interested in some S2 cams, howver which ones are you bringing over?
 
Update.. None really, Workshop it was being done at got broken into and some, well most of my parts nicked.. :(( - They seem to have left a takata tho?? lol.
 
Thats dreadful,sorry to hear about that,was it your engine and box and all taken or just your new parts?
 
No, Just the smaller parts, most new and old internals.. Ecu I believe, New Mfactory gear sets and final drive :angry2: Os giken clutch and flywheel. It's just annoying It put the build back as least 2 weeks untill we get the parts back!

what do you mean by you need to find all the parts? as in you need to source them all again?
bte what gearbox you using with this?
 
Yup, need to re-source and buy them all. Using a standard s4c gearbox with Mfactory closer ratio gears + Final drive.

Update: Should be getting our hands on the Sleeved B16b bottom end on monday, all ready and prep'd for the engine building to commence (Will update in week with piccs!:nice:). Hoping the importing of the Mfactory close ratio gears will not take too long and prolong completion.. :)

what ratios you using and fd? what clutch and flywheel?

Hi,

1st - 3.070
2nd - OEM
3rd - 1.695
4th - 1.384
5th - 1.130

FD- 4.05

Since my Os giken super single 1 clutch and flywheel were nicked, they have been replaced with a competition stage 4 Clutch and chrome moly Lightened flywheel.
 
where did you get clutch and flywheel from? im after one for my build atm

this build is na right?
