Hit by uninsured driver!!!

Wats up guys...

I was involved in an accident last nite in Dublin, the guy smashed rite into the front of me, airbags went off and everything, and the cars in bits now. :(

The guy flew off before I could get a reg, and the garda weren't much help. I'm only covered third party, fire and theft so pretty sure i'm not covered for this, however i've heard of a bureau that you can claim from in such circumstances.

Anyone know if this is true?

Wow thats awful! Does your insurance company not offer uninsured motorist coverage?

It's very unfortunate but you really should get UMPD and UMBI coverage if they offer it.
 
oh no man, feel sorry for you. garda never a good helper when comes to this. where did it happened, what car model was it?

I'm not sure, need to contact them on monday. Not sure if we have UMPD or UMBI insurance over here!! :(

It happened at the back of finglas, I was in my EK4 SIR and they were in a Toyota Avensis. Thankfully there was a witness who stayed and backed me up when the garda arrived!!

Damn it! we are always exposed to irresponsible people anywhere in the world, the same thing happened to me some years ago. Hope you get this sorted out my friend.

Yes ders one here for ireland... I've just logged a call with them der, will have to wait untill monday to hear back from them though as their currently out of office. Did the same with my insurance company so i'm hoping they will come to a happy resolve for me between them :((

Will keep you guys posted as it may become a good source of information in the event that anyone else is unfortunate enough to find themselves in a similar position in the future...
 
Just be prepared for a long drawn out claim... I'll cross my fingers for you buddy!
 
theres a fund set up in ireland by insurance companies to pay for the damages caused by uninsured ireland ring your insurence company and they will put you in touch.happened to my mate in a scooby and the mongos just drove off leaving him with a 3000 bill!
 
Who are you insured with?.....
There are some companies who will give you the benefit of the doubt....but on the other hand theres Quinn direct. Dont tell me your with Quinn.........
 
same **** happened to me, didnt set my airbag of and was eventually repairable stupic pink cosa right up my are couldnt accelerate to avoid it because my clutch had went that day so I had to be wairy, corsa woman driver sped off, luckily I was working at dominos at the time at I had a delivery to her house, result but the silly bitch had no insurance but I got the money to repair it after threats to report her! dont worry mate I'm sure things will panout.

Sorry to hear lad.. Really hate people who do that.. Just leave you with 1000's of euro damage.. Hope ya get it sorted and get some money
