Alright guys,

Having a B18cr engine in my EK9 now im after a little advice in what intake to use....

Just looking for some ideas etc. Im not spending hundres of £££ on an intake such as mugen etc......

I was using the B16B OEM box/spoon filter combo but that box doesnt seem to now as the B18 intake pipe is longer, and diameter is larger!

I do like the AEM kits they do and i would pay around the £200 mark if it was worth while..

As said just looking for some ideas from people who have the conversion,

Thanks :drive:

How about the ITR air box with no resonator but a cold air feed instead :nice:

Do you mean keep the DC2 air box? As the DC2 doesnt have a resonator as you know.

It doesnt seem to fit??

oem or bmc cda

Im going to have a play with thre DC2 Box tommorow and see what i can do with it. I mean it runs great at the moment but ive just wacked on the apexi i had for the B16B... Bodged up a bit but doing the trick as a temp.....

In terms of cone filter for DC2 box, what one is advised?

I run HKS Racing Suction system!
It work's really well but that's prob down to the vent's in my front bumper more than anything!
But with a cold air feed would work just as well i would have thought!
Not to expencive eather if you can find one!

The DC2R intake is hard to go past bang for your buck. The only difference between this and MUGEN is the larger volume box. Comptech is a bigger system with 3.5" piping all the way until the end of the ICE BOX where it has a big velocity stack.

The DC2R intake does have a resonator. If you remove the resonator then you'll need to add a intake pipe to the box.

honestly, BMC CDA is technically not that great. I've used it on my bmw years ago and since its the few only thing available, theres no choice.

With honda, theres so many!

I vote DC2R box. :)

Thanks for the advise peeps :nice:

I will try fitting it. Oh what cone filter is best to use with the DC2 box? I currently have the stock one in there.......

I cant really find any uprated filters apart from spoons one..... If there are any, any ideas where i can get them?

thanks

thats great thanks ^^^

So the stock Cone filter will not be restricting the engine at all?

Also i have to ask, why do people put there cold air feed into the arch? Ive had a proper look around it and i cant see how there is going to be alot of direct air in the arch? The only way i can imagine is by removing the Plastic guard covering the whole arch.........

A little confused

The entire fender area top to bottom is a high pressure region (well more at the top). Of course it would help even more if the feed is directly from a hole in the front bumper.

And yes, the restriction is not enough, imo, to give up the better filtration of the stock filter.

Do you plan to convert your 60mm throttle body to a 62mm ?

thanks :nice:

So will the stock cone filter in the DC2 box restirict the engine at all?

Just had a look at comptech but i couldnt find a drop in filter for the DC2 box?

Keep in mind the B18C uses a 62mm throttle body :nice:

Maybe you didn't catch it the first time.
