b series mini project..

been a long time since i have posted anything on here, so thought i'd chuck up a few pics of what i've been doing.......

its a 1972 mini, with a custom subframe to fit a b series engine in, heres how it is so far.

underside painted a while ago

trial fitting of engine

painted shell

building up of rear beam coilovers and brakes,

bias valve and internal lines,

foam filled fuel cell,

fabricating custom steering column brackets,

shell with poly rear screen fitted,

still plenty to do and waiting for lots of parts(

got the b18, mega bargain price as well

striped off all the junk ready for cam belt change.

got a ek9 flywheel and transmission sitting around to go with it. engine should be in soon

going to get some fresh pics and some updates up soon, waiting for big delivery of fibreglass panels(bonnet, wings and front panel, doors rear valance and a few other bits)

radiator is one of the next things on the to get/do list, its a tricky decision what to do. was thinking of going for a fluidyne or koyo civic rad, but they'r not cheap. want something all aluminium

the main job on the go at the moment is sorting the wire loom out and finishing of the exhaust.

Do they do a subframe to fit a K20?

I remeber seeing somewhere a V8 miniclubman. I use to have a 1989 Mini 850, was going to do something like this with a flip front, even bought the fibreglaass front and bars, but in the end I sold the car.

Great work man, look forward to seeing it complete.

yeah think some one makes a kit for front wheel drive k20 conversions, also z cars make a semi spaceframe kit for mid engine k20! one was up for sale recently for £35000!!! crazy money.

That's brilliant man! You going to make it road legal? Or just track it?

That thing must go like sh it off a shovel, zero weight and a brillian power plant. Just don't crash it because there's like no protection lol. Spose you have a roll cage though.
