I cant beleive I'm writing this cause I should'nt be alive. Last saturday night i crashed my ek9 doing about 30mph to 40mph going around a bend only a mile from my house. The rear end kicked out, the front hit a wall then fliped in the air and slided on its roof down the road for 24yards. The car is in bits and I am completely depressed but life has to go on. Parts that seem to be ok are the engine, gearbox, rear lights, rear bumper, recaros, 3 of the oem wheels, the dials and a few other small bits. The engine has 177,456 km on it and it is standard. I'd appreciate some advice on what you lads think the engine and the rest of the car is worth. Also as I crawled out of the car I could not beleive how much it had crumbled. Dont get me wrong I loved my 9 but ek9s are made out of pure tin. I am nearly broke and my 9 was one of the most important things to me. Lads take care of your car and you have to realise that they are hopeless in a crash. I'm typing this with one hand as one of my arms is broken but I'd appreciate some advice on what a crashed 9 is worth.

Sorry to hear that man but glad your ok!!

Sure you will have no trouble getting rid of any undamaged parts on the forum

Oh dude, that's awful...luckily you were doing "only" 30-40mph  Good luck with everything.

The main thing is that your alive fella,

The 9 can be replaced your life cant, hope you get better soon

gutted for you man,id say you should get about 2200 for the complete car more if you break it yourself.

Exactly what he says. I see your in Galway. There's 2 lads over there that break EK9's they might be interested in it: 0868473223 - Ollie. Tell him that Anto that used to have the Blue EK9 sent you :) Get well soon.

Dude, that sucks, I know what it's like to lose a car that you love. I had a Miata that some old guy turned left infront of. I got blamed and then sued for 100,000 dollars, they only ended up with 11,000, but the thing was, I should not have been at fault...

Sorry to hear about that mate... As the lads said, just be thankful your ok, if not a bit battered and bruised... Could have been a lot worse.

You'll easily move them parts mate. People are always on the look out for recaros, clocks, door cards, carpets and mats etc... Might take a few bits off ya myself including the recaros and rails if they're in good knick...

Let me know anyway, best of luck with it and a speedy recovery... :nice:

sorry to hear and hope you get better soon
were abouts in galway you from?

**** news regarding the car, but your alive - and you can't put a price on that! Get well soon.

Any unusual circumstances regarding the crash? Blowout? Oil on the road? Seized bearing?

**** hardluck! its easy happen lik! your lucky tough you can replace a car but not a life.

i crashed my old ek4, not as bad as your case but i no the feeling mate it didnt even hit me untill i was stripping parts off it luckily i bounced back and got another EK4 (i thought to myself well ive got the parts...) main thing is that your ok mate!

Jeez thats bad lad. Lucky you came out alive from the sounds of it. Best way to try get as much money possible out of parts on the car is to break the car yourself and advertise parts on the forums. Make a list of whatever parts that can be salvaged and throw up a parts for sale thread.

Thanks very much for your replys lads, its helps alot thanks. Even though I dont have a 9 now I'm still goin stay a member on this brilliant site.:thanks:

Wow...shite, that looks really bad. But, without saying modern cars aren't safer, most cars will fold like a tin on the roof. That's why rollcages are used in motorsports.

break it for parts on the site . or buy a cheap eg and bang the b16 in it and the rest of the parts . glad you managed to get out , any faster the roof may have caved .

I feel your pain mate, i hope the best turnes out for you.

I dont think I'll get much just look at it. The engine is standard and has 177,456km. I think it's the most valuable thing on the car.

really really sorry to hear this mate. Its the worst feeling.

Good luck
