Well as most of you know I sold my EK9 to JohnnyG on here over a year ago and this is what I have been driving since! Its a JDM Subaru Impreza STI Type R for those wondering what it is I bought this from member absolutelysideways on here with the bottom end shot so first things first was to sort the engine out.
I dropped the car up to Ali Burrows motorsport who is regarded highly for work on Subaru's after stripping the engine it was found that the main bearings, crank and rods were gone so upon discussion with Ali on the different options it was decided to go for the new type sti 8 short block as the engine is alot stronger than the old type ej20 with having a larger crank, forged rods+pistons and more of a closed deck design block. To add to the build was a RCM uprated oil pump, Fuelab FPR, a list of new oem subaru parts and a Exedy clutch kit. Treated the brakes to some new Ferodo discs and DS-2500 pads.
Got the car back running sweet and ran it in for 1000miles before heading to Dublin to meet Andy Forrest from the UK for a road map. Car was tuned by Andy on a Apexi Power FC ecu which he made a great job of, drives super smooth when taking it easy then pulls like a train when asked to
Next on my list was the bodywork, P1 front lip and custom rear lip. After having these fitted and both bumpers fully resprayed the bumpers looked great but the fresh paint made the rest of car look a little dull so I opted to go for a full respray of entire car
Aftermarket parts;
-Apexi turbo downpipe
-Blitz nur spec catback
-Drop in panel filter +Airbox resonater delete
-Apexi power FC with commander
-Apexi boost solenoid kit
-HKS SSQV bov
-Lamco boost, oil press, oil temp, water temp gauges
-Advan RG wheels with Potenza tyres
-HID front fog lights
And some pics after a wash today
