Have you used the Tezno R brake kit whats your experiences???

Thanks :top:

do what my mate did !

thats me! (logged in wrong user:mad:)

know a few people who have had the tenzo discs!

one set "warped" on a guy i know

dont like the idea of bigger disc and same caliper set-up!

if your running stock ek4 brakes just do the standard upgrade pal...

ek9/mb6/98-dc2 calipers and mg zs180 brakes(282mm)

and a good set of pads and.....your stopped:nice:

i used project mu pads and goodridge hoses and im happy :p

Where can i find that set up easily?? A few i have spoke to really rated the Tenzo and if run in correctly should be fine imo any brake disc can warp.

I just want to increase my stopping power a lil as i'm about to do a B18C swap. Also round the Nurburgring i didn't have the confidence in the standard brakes. I have uprated standard sized discs with uprated pads.

know what your saying about any disc warping....i had a set of tarox discs on
a crx vt and they warped with fully working calipers!

search the forums as there are always calipers up for sale, even civic mb6 do you
well
i got oem seal kit for my calipers of the "bay" just to be sure!
got my 282mm ebc blank discs from same place (282mm...4x100)

as said...use with "decent" pads and this set-up should be good enough!

regards

ricky

I would do the 282 swap and use Dixcel Type Z pads and Plain Discs, my dad has them on his dc2 and they are awesome.

i did an ep3 brake conversion with 300mm front re drilled discs and mgzs v6 rear discs running black diamond pads stops like a gud un in my opinion.

I would stay away from the Tenzo dude! Go for an ek9/98 spec dc2 upgrade. Same thing:)

I'm getting really mixed opinions on these. I know some people who are using them currently with no problem one has been fitted for 3 years???? Why is everything so difficult

pretty clear replies, if your title stated ap racing, endless or any other proven high quality product, you be lucky to get 1 reply saying bad (youll always have someone who gets bad batch)

youve had lot of replies not in tenzo favour, i personally havnt even looked at them but know the no 1 reason people would buy a tenzo brake kit is for looks

plenty of info about oem conversions and proven recommomeded kits out there, tenzo is somewhere down bottom of list id guess

Tenzo has their fingers in too many things. I sat in a tenzo seat, it sucked. I don't think you should use them for brakes.

By the way guys, brake pulsation is caused by improper pad bed-in procedure (or no pad bed in). Disc's don't warp, they just get uneven buildup of pad material on them.

Ok i'll stay away just want a bigger rotar i liked the 300mm discs. I'll just uprate my pads again and lines. I've made the car much lighter so it will stop better anyway. Thanks for the help.

don`t need bigger brakes just go Dixel FCR discs and type Z pads,,
they are AWESOME!!

good choice stay away from tenzo brakes put on bigger oe calipers ek9ctr dc2itr, prelude h22,legend 3.2 v6 etc with the mgzs 282mm discs best set up by far for money spent with braided lines and a decent pads

Arn't VTI calpiers the same as EK9 ones?? I have a 262mm front disc?? I've herd about those dixcel FCR ones... How much and where can i find them? Not sure if i can be arsed with a conversion its hassle trying to get parts.

lines dont need changing unless in real bad state which is very very slim chance, a 282 disc will be fine until you get to point where your doing a track every couple weeks

i never liked oem ek4 brakes even on road so understand why you want to change, ek9/dc2 braking system is much bettter then ek4 (abs is different and you can feel it (superb), 282 fronts and 262 on backs opposed to 262 and 242 on ek4, bigger caliper/piston on front, better oem pad compound, larger rear pad on ek9/dc2 and bigger mater cylinder to cope with the extras

run your brakes into ground then just sell you calipers and buy new calipers, discs and pads from dc2/nsx/legend etc and only headache you have is sourcing appropraite carriers from scrapyard (you could buy new but no real point cost wise)

lines dont need changing and ek4 master cylinder will work but for better pedal feel and little less trvel get dc2/ek9 master cylinder + couple bottles brake fluid and you have proven new setup (pad choice can be daunting but down to setup/driving style/your specific requirements - most good brake companys will discuss pads with you and recommend 1 from their range)

£600 for all new bits, you could prob fit yourself or pay £50 to garage to fit, savings there to be made with lesser discs, pads, used master cylinder etc, dont skrimp on used calipers though as usually bites you back years later

Ok brilliant that is perfect thanks mate. I will run mine till they die the n persue this setup. I take it all can be bought from genuine honda for that price?
