Tenzo R brakes who's used them

they can be bought new from honda, yes but, ek4 newest model 2000 i got my setup from 2003 ctr which is a lot newer than my original set up so dont be too put off by new especially as you can get new seal kits from around 40 quid the pair if needs be

Arn't VTI calpiers the same as EK9 ones?? I have a 262mm front disc?? I've herd about those dixcel FCR ones... How much and where can i find them? Not sure if i can be arsed with a conversion its hassle trying to get parts.

Dixcelbrake on here sells them think my discs and pads all round came to £670 :shocked::shocked: :nice:

im no metal expert but i would never have redrilleded discs on my car although many people do

on ek4 you have to buy mgzs 180 discs, straight fit and good quality, many of mg guys who track and actually competatively race say they have found oem discs hold up well so proven, calipers are best bought/cheapest from somewhere like brakes international or buy use set and have then fully cleaned/rebuilt

Before i done the 5 lug conversion on my EK4 i had EK9 calipers and MG ZR160 / ZS180 discs (exact same) You wouldnt believe the difference!!

I would extremely doubt the tenzo system would offer not just a reliable system but also one as good as the 282mm EK9 system!

EK9 Calipers cost me £130 from Japperformanceparts.co.uk
Discs Cost me £95
Pads cost me £30

And of course you need a little anti seize and a little brake fluid but i would recommend doing a full flush!

I would supplement this by putting USDM (4 lug) EP3 rotors in the back (ITR sized but 4 lug) and ITR rear calipers.

Furthermore, cutting off/ removing the backing shields to improve cooling. Especially since ijwhiteman is going to be running at the 'ring again soon. :drive:

Not herd of this mod before are they the same PCD as the EK4?

yes, you use carriers from dc2/ek9 (others as well but not sure which), your ek4 calipers are retained and you just run dc2/ek9/lude pads (slightly larger than ek4) and discs as RA says fit from ep which are 262mm and 4x100 pcd (ep3 wont work as different)

So the ones from EP2 is that only on the rear then?

yes larger rear brakes to compliment the upgraded fronts.

I'd go about my business get the 11.0in. rotors up front (ITR) spec. along with ITR/CTR calipers too.

Been running discs & pads that TGM put on (£350ish), Hawk pads I think with unknown discs, took a while to bed in, but 5 trackdays & plenty of road miles so far this year and they have been solid, plenty of life in them yet. 4 pots are overkill on the EK9 imo, nice if you have the money though :p, May try the Dixel stuff next to see what all the fuss is about, especially as he regards them slightly better than PF97's..

Cheers mate.:nice: Going to run mine dead first. Well thinking about this brands track day. Not sure about noise though...

With a good bung you will be ok, its only for the test, then when you first get out on track just ease off on the straight, once the day is in full swing nobody will be that interested imo. My mates Scoob recently at Brands passed with an almost fingerless rubber glove on the back..
