Does anyone have these fitted or know of an EK review??

Found a set cheap :)

Any info appreciated:nice:

my mate "neiller" on this site has them on his silver 9 :nice:

will get him to post up info for you pal :secret:

seem to have a good spec although never ran them myself so cant comment (dont seem ideal for road use though)

Anything Tein would be safe to go for in my eyes. :nice:

I have driven Monoflex on a JZA80 Supra and a GDM Impreza, both were street cars and were very well mannered on the street, not too bumpy at all, despite the higher springrates the monoflex uses.

Yeah please :nice: , even some pics.. Looking at their specs on Tein UK seem they dont lower much!

Im going to hold out for a set of Teins , their quality and their rebuild service in the UK is handy!

I've had this on my EK9. Extremely bumpy. Softest setting doesnt help much.

Its pure track sussy to me. Nvr again on the street.

That makes sense, per TEIN regular FLEX is considered entry level track use, i just find it strange that they rode so nice on the WRX and Supra, but then again those are different cars with entirely different suspension...

What was the ride height adjustment like jugbugz? Heard they dont go that low? fr-35mm rr-45mm max?

Have the option to buy edfc with them too

I have them on my 2000 Hatch, love them I also had Cusco Zero 2 so if I had to rate them Tein 9 -Cusco 10

as jugbugs said you will feel the bumps and potholes , my car came with them on so cant compare to a standard nine but was driving a 98 spec teg , on the back roads they give you a good feel of whats happening and i enjoy that. try them ! if your getting them at a good price should easily be sold on or swaped if not to your liking. on a different suspension really like the spoon dampers eternal blue has fitted , a lot more able to absorb the pot hole riddled roads we have to drive on .

They go lower than Tein SS. But not too low. The front only goes down to about 1 finger or less from tyre-to-gaurds.

Yes you can fit EDFC to them. I have EDFC on my TEIN SS. Best thing ever!

Yeh quite different. The difference between TEIN SS and Monoflex on EK9 is like night and day. Flex is apparently in between.

Honestly I hated my car when it had Monoflex on, it was just seriously way too crashy. If you dont have uprated engine mounts like Hasport etc then you get engine choke pretty much everywhere you drive.

We're talking about EK9 specific model ofcourse.

IMO, SS is too soft & MoFlex is too hard.. Better get the regular Flex model but i think its already discountinued..

I've experienced this somewhat with harder suspension but never knew what causes it. Anybody know why this happens?

When you upgrade the engine mounts to something like Hasport, this choking stops but you get lots of cabin vibrations from the engine since you have harder mounts.

JDM 101: yes most ppl get type FLEX for in between. I'm happy with my SS. EK9 SS model seems to be stiffer than EK1/EK4 model SS. Not completely sure, but its what I felt.

hey guys,

Got the monoflex on my ek4.. on softest settings imo is soft, im running no.10 - but i guess i like it hard.. more feeling.. myb coz i had Apexi N1 spec coils b4 on my EG.. they are rock hard.. but awesome for track use. Tein SS is too soft for my liking - my mates has it (but for daily use - i guess is ok if you prefer to stock feeling)

* btw need your help guys..

how to adjust the height/lowering on the monoflex? I know that you can adjust the height/low from the bottom one..

- how to adjust or know the right amount for the progressive spring rate (front & rear)? what i mean is how tight should or how loose? (sorry hard to explain)

- how to adjust the rear spring, coz there is a supporting springs as well (the spring on the bottom) how to know the right amount?

btw to loosen (adjusting high/low of the coil) the bottom lock nut thingy is to go anti clockwise right? coz mine is so hard.. cant seem to loosen it??

thx heaps
sorry to hijack :) & long info

Nice Buy!

Did you get the EK4 Monoflex or EK9 Monoflex? Theyre different.Coz EK9 mono is pretty damn hard on softest setting. You can tell the model by the label on the shocks.

Basically lowering the spacers = lowering car

I wouldnt suggest you do this yourself if your not competant. You could end up having each corner at different height which upsets corner balance. Best to bring to shop.

You dont adjust it, its supposed to be there as a part of the spring system so that when you lower or raise the height, the spring rate wont get affected. It'l compress when the car is down

btw to loosen (adjusting high/low of the coil) the bottom lock nut thingy is to go anti clockwise right? coz mine is so hard.. cant seem to loosen it??
I dont understand this? What lock nut?
