Hey guys I'm new to the whole EK9 world. I've never really put a lot of time and effort into the internals. I was looking around at some spoon stroker kits. My question is if I install this is there any other major things I need to change. I would like to just get it all done at once rather than pull the motor apart 30 times. My goal right now is and tell me how you guys think it sounds. Spoon Stroker kit, buddy club retainers, valve springs and valves, spoon cams and cam gears, spoon clutch and flywheel. Now assuming based on the financial situation if say I only do the stroker kit am i going to hurt my engine without changing anything else. Thank guys for all your help this site has by far been the best one I have been on yet.

Youve got to balance the price between A, buying all the parts you said and B, selling your B16B block/ exchanging it with a breaker for a B18cr block.

As once you have sold your B16 it might be cheaper to just buy a B18c and then you will have the specs u would have from those aftermarket parts anyway.

they dont sell the spoon stroker kit anymore. so you would have to buy B18 parts 2nd hand or from honda to install in your B16B.

I dont think spoon cams, etc would be worth the money. if you stroke your B16B, get a 2.5" exhaust system, a DC2 airbox and tune it with hondata S300 you will have a fast
ek9!! :)

I have the spoon Stroker Kit. Come complete with Pistons, Rods, crank, Head Gasket plus I got the ACL bearing to go with it. I did this with a Full Spoon Valvetrain and it was amazing in my EK9 when I had. I mean no DC2 could stand up to me. I was able to Rev Way beyond 9K. Think the Most i went up to was 12,300k and that was like once a week with missed gears and i never blew my motor. the stroker kit along with all the head components are about $2300 USD.

If you look at the user SpoonSportsEurope's page

And if you click the 'About Me' tab. In his signature it says
'Spoon Sports 1.8 Stroker Kit Now Available!'

I would PM him to ask if they still sell them.

yes i was on to tokyo express today and they said that europe was geting the stroker kit again but dono when it will land tho????

yea its back available!!

so i'vE bein told...funky power sellin them i think

Hello,

IntermaN is right, we are selling the Spoon Stroker Kit again, we are just awaiting on a confirmed price from Japan, as we managed to end up with 2 prices from them, and not wanting to quote one, when it is the other, etc. So we should have a price within the next couple of days.

Even though Funky Power are our Spoon Sports UK Dealer, they do not have any of the kits yet, as we have only recently discussed the possibility with Spoon Japan.

Nice one coz I will take one!! :thanks:

I might have to save up for a Stroker kit too when they are available :)

Same as any Spoon gear isn't it? Stock OEM built and balanced to tighter tolerances?

not even that. moreover what i know for a fact (having watched spoon promo videos) is what they do for their stroker kits, more than honda, is weighing each unit of the same part (ie rods) and put together those that are closer in a particular weight range. ie 100-104 grams, 104-109 grams and so on. It`s like getting a venturi TB. OEM bored out soled as spoon to justify the exaggerated price.

Do you know anything about their dampers per chance?

Sorry about the delay regarding the price - had to wait for Japan to confirm.

Unfortunately it is not as cheap as it used to be, due to the fact they dont have a huge stock of B-Series parts anymore and they cost alot more to buy.

The kit contains - 1 No Crankshaft, 4 No Conrods, 4 No Pistons (Inc. Piston Rings/Pins) and 1 No Spoon Headgasket. The pistons are available in Standard Size (81.00mm) and Oversize (81.25mm).

Prices (including VAT/Shipping/EK9.org Discount):

Spoon Stroker Kit (Standard): £1386.50
Spoon Stroker Kit (Oversize): £1498.13

Dont have any in stock yet, but will do within the next couple of weeks, I've ordered one for my EK9 :) and once again apologies for the price, as mentioned due to the B-Series Engines no longer being manufactered, etc and Honda changing the prices around it works out rather high, althought last time I asked around 4 months ago it was a lot more than this!

Regards, Sam
