ill be out at every track day (open ones) this year. if im not there soley to test ie after first one or two and u pm me a few days before ill bring ek9org members for a few laps... if you pay for the 20 fee mondello charges its on the house at my end:)) (only a few laps though as my friends usually ask too)

ps. thanks i just love b series engines

its been a while since the last update. not that i havent been working on the car..... just didnt have time to post pics.

thy suspension design was a major concern. Since in club its free its one field that i felt we could make serious improvements. now since Ro let me free at designing it i tried a few designs, i finally liked the third the best. its such a pity as you'll see the workmanship in the first two attempts was amazing. i felt really bad wasting his time but its all in the aid of tenths :mad) . he took it well.
Again a huge thanks for his serious work on this project!!!!!! bt:)

the below arms were not ef but dc2. the reasons we chose them were so we could make them from scratch.the pics will show why?

Mock up: (note the positive camber due to 98 spec hubs)

Coming along nicely:nice: This is going to be seriously rigid I imagine

I had trouble running a lot of caster on the crx , had to " adjust " *ahem * parts of the inner wheel arch to stop the tyres eating away the car :p

Nothing a blowtorch and brute force cant solve.

;) that was a rogh measurment... ill give actuall figures soon.

at leat there adjustable. the eg i only got about 3 with work!!!, the crx stock is three so its a better base car to work with

The positive castor will improve straight-line stability is it?

no only toe out does that. positive castor makes steering heavier but improves turning. more so than camber!!!

it basicly gives more camber the more you turn the wheel. so cornering esp tighter ones is dramatically improved. best mod i did last year. and that was only adding about a degree or two :nice:

Yeah caster is a good thing, but its a pain to park my crx:
205' hankook zz1's + crx with no power steering + 290mm steering wheel + caster = bitch

Nice build, I gotta ask you some qusetions since you know alot about this car. 1) Are CRX parts mostly the same w/ civic? 2) Parts availability? 3) What engine does it come standard? Im really liking this car. I've checked my japanese importer & they have a few available at the moment. I think they came out w/ a version w/ B16 motor?

oK:
1) no... the back end is exactly the same arms/ shock wise, fuel way different.
if you get a vt model (ie dohc vtec) the have fuel tank with pump. this will help.
the front end is way diff. it runs completly diff front upper and lower arms. you need hasport engine mounts of simular. if your running a hydo box from civic ul also have to convert to it as car is cable.if u get a doch vtec u can buy wiring loom adapters to run engine. so many little diffs. read full thread and ul see what i needed.

2) parts are easy to get, not as easy as eg but ul have no problems. very pop in america so ul find what you need, even j's racing still do good few parts for them.

3) the came with a b16a engine with cable box. my advice is to buy one of these and just swap engine to b16b.... easiest job with out having to change what i did as my car was a dual carb so i had to change everything!!!

hope this helps in 20 seconds :))

Firstly massive thanks again to Ro In ROCO performance. The arms i got were for a DC2, all i could get in time so ro basicly remade them from scratch while adding a few improvements. ;)

The upper arms have extra castor over stock and camber.
the lower arms now have rosejointed castor arms that are massively adjustable.
ill let the pics speak for themselves

Making the antirollbar joints as there is none on DC2 lower front arms
