re-registering an ek9 as an ej9?

I hope you get caught.

If you can't afford it, get a Micra. If you can't afford a Micra get a bicycle.

failing martins recomendations....

probs best to just get yourself a nice pair of Nike trainers and keep to the footpath... that'll set you back £60 then you just have to worry about keeping them white... practically maintenance free :p

i think everyones being abit hard on ya..but in truth wat u r thinkin of doing is highly illegal and not recomended as u must know by now..best way to do wat ur tryna do is keep insuring ur ej9 and when u have made enough money to pay for insurance convert ur ej9 and log it down on the dvla papers that way u keep ur car and ur insurance company knows that u have changed ur engine to a b16 or u even have a choice of a b18 b20 k20 h22 the list is endless if u abide by the rules..hope its helped u mate.

TBH pretty soft compared to how the prosecuter will treat it.... if our justice system worked and this guy went through with his idea, he should be banned from driving for at least 5 years..

You need to calm down man, this idea is madness lol In all fairness mate I understand what you mean but there is nothing we can do about insurance so you just need to follow the rules unfortunately

again im only toying with this idea because the police changed the law so 3rd party extension had to be 25 instead of 21 and there is a really clean/cheap ek9 for sale locally at the minute

you can buy it but there is no way you will be able insure it.. Why bother paying insurance when its not actually going to cover.. That is so stupid. Also you think your harming no one by insuring it incorrect but your wrong.. Your affecting every single other person trying to insure a car.. Its people like you that have made the insurance go so high, so dont be giving out about it being high as its people like you who have done it. Also if you crash into someone how are you going to pay for there car repair as your not insured. So that way you are affecting every single road user. So get a brain, think straight for 2 seconds and you will realise its not going to work and is a very very stupid idea. Keep your car you have until you can actually insure an ek9 correct

this will never work, dotn be a tool mate just wait until your older and do it the right way no matter how much u love the 9s

I actually can't believe there's somebody out there thinking this could ever work!

A) as said before, it would be very difficult to get DVLA change the details, I will cite their website here:

Change to engine and cylinder capacity (engine size)

DVLA will need written evidence of any changes to engine number and cylinder capacity (cc). Written evidence can be:
•a receipt for the replacement engine
•written evidence from the manufacturer
•an inspection report provided for insurance purposes
•written confirmation on headed paper from a garage if the change in engine size took place before you bought the vehicle

B) As many before said - you will be paying thousands for not being insured.

C) It's an utterly stupid idea, forget it!

whats up with this forum , lately this stupid threads are popping up that either been covered before and are absolutely absurd .....:angry2:

hold on here, youre blaming me for something i havent even done yet.

at the minute my ej9 insurance which is insured properly is costing £2500, can you blame me for giving off about the price?

if you lived in northern ireland youll understand that car insurance is a joke over here compared to the main land.

The insurance must be high for a reason.
Claims against you doesn't help.
And how long have you had your licence for?
You just need to try look elsewhere for insurance.
Insurance isn't all easy over in the uk mainland either, my first quote for my EJ9 was near enough 2k, as I expected as I just passed last year. Then I searched elsewhere and got a cheaper quote closer the the 1k mark. Age doesn't matter as its all about the ncbs, driving experience and being 'seen' as a less risk.
And because it's a civic, its always gonna be expensive.
I'm just working my way down the years and I know il get a type r sooner or later as long as i stay accident free.

right you lot are laughing but ive just got a quote for an ek9

no ncb, claim against me, 5k miles a year, fully comp, locked in garage, age 21: about £11k
1years ncb (everything else is the same): about £9k
2years ncb (everything else is the same): about £7.5k
3years ncb (everything else is the same): about £6.5k
4years ncb (everything else is the same): about £5.5k

would any of you pay this?

now a 1.4 jap import only costs about £1800 to insure...

insurance in northern ireland is a joke

yes it is your fault your insurance is so high

lol

'claim against me' is the reason why your insurance is soooooooooo high.

Best thing to do is wait a bit, gain your ncb's back and then try again, don't go bending the rules and then getting caught and f***ing it up for everyone else that is willing to pay their insurance premiums because they have a real passion for what they want

Not the best of ideas mate.

It`s bad enough not declaring mods as the Police WILL check up on this sooner or later. But registering it as a completely different car, you could face a prison sentence.

Why o why do morons like this think it's ok?

At what point do you wake up and think, I know I'll tell um it's a 1.4 that"ll fool them. You think your getting arse raped now, mate if they found out you'd done this you'd be in jail for fraud, not to mention how much **** you'd be in financially cause your insurance would be nil and void. Therefore YOU owe the damages.

People that does this are just as bad as those that "crash for cash" parasites.....

its a bad idea yeah, but the way some of you are getting on is a bit much callin the guy all these names lol, yes n.ireland is ridiculous for insurance and the likes of us younger guys have no chance of insuring anything good until 23+ but nothing we can do.

If i were you mate id shop around for insurance of your ej and take it from there the ek9 idea wont work altho i see were your coming from

:angry2: Why don't u buy the ek9 garage it till u can afford to Insure it as it is. Then u will be able to do little bits and bobs to it untill your get more ncb, If not then wait. you also got to think it's other drivers on the road that cause accidents aswell, is it really worth points if not a ban if you get caught. Vosa would cut your licence up on the road side and crush your car In seconds.

As said above FORGET THE IDEA:wtf2:
