Project milano red dc2

Nice work mate. When I eventually get mine done we'll have to hook up.

Cheers guys
Yeh Rich would be good to catch up mate, how you getting on with yours?

I've got loads to do on it. There's a bit of body work that needs doing as well. I reacon a good few solid months should do it (that's if I get the time).

same with me mate, that's why it's taken me so long to get it to the stage where it's at now.... AND there's still loads to do - it's a never ending story!

Quick question for you mate, where would you fit the water return line, on the bottom or the top of the rad? I've read/heard mixed opinions on this.

Glad she is finally back on the road bro. Great work so far..

Few updates

Boost pipes all in place and plumbing the water and oil lines in progress

Managed to get some fittings made on the bottom of the rad for the water return (turbo) and coolant drain, hopefully tomorrow i'll have some baffles and oil return welded into the sump. Then I just need to plumb the wastegate ie vacuum and water hoses as it's water cooled too.

I've decided that Romain will be doing the tuning it was a tough decision between Will @ RDT and Romain.

Does anyone know any decent exhaust builders in the midlands? I need a 3" system made asap

It doesn't really matter mate.

It doesn't really matter mate.

Thanks mate

Here's what's been happening last few days

Oil Return fitting welded into sump, which has now been painted satin black

Sump Baffles welded in, the sump has been cleaned thoroughly

Oil return fitted (there is a very slight kink in the pipe, i'm not sure if this is going to be an issue?)

Got a fitting made for the rad drain and water return for the turbo

Turbo oil feed fitted

Half Rad (Duel core) + slim line fan fitted

Filled the rad up with some water wetter

Opened up the wastegate to see which spring/s I have

According to Tial's website

0.6 Bar 8.70 PSI BROWN + MAROON

I ran into a couple of issues

Realised that the RC injectors are not plug and play, being saturated they are OBD1 fitment

But, I did a quick search and some people has suggested removing the blue casing from inside of the injector clips (on the engine loom) this should allow the injectors to slide in.... so I tried it with a spare loom I have

Blue clip

Removed.... and the injector pushed in.... Now, i'm not sure if this is ideal? or safe... has anyone else tried this method?

The next obstacle is this

It doesn't line up! not sure if there are any silicone hoses that would fit as it's an awkward route and the intercooler diameter is wider then the turbo side

Next on the to do list

plump the wastegate and BOV

Upload Basemap onto Hondata

Drop the car off to the exhaust shop for a custom 3" system

Then head down to Romain for tuning

That "kink" on the return line is no good. Can't you use another 45 coming off the sump ? You may need to really shorten the line. If that fails then you'll need to use different fittings... It's crucial that the return line is spot-on or you'll ruin the turbo.

Nice one Rich, i'm going to try a 45 on the sump side :nice:

It needs to slope down nicely all the way to the sump. The drain relies totally on gravity.

Haven't been able to spend much time on it recently due to other commitments, but I managed to get a 45degree fitting on the sump and sort out the kink in the oil return line

Also had to get the rad re-threaded as I managed to over tight the fitting; because it was leaking coolant.

Just need to finish off the vacuum and waterlines for the Bov/wastegate and then drop it off to have an exhaust made; I can then go and pay Romain a visit for tuning.
