Passenger ride in ek9 Kent area

Looking at next week an it's shows as a type r. I would of bought the car if it was registered correctly . If people wanna remove engine numbers cause they can't or don't wanna insure it properly that's down to them .

If I'm buying one of these cars for 6.5 k then I will insure it properly so that in worse case scenario I will be covered by insurance .

Here's where I am I went to view the car it's was a nice car , if it was registered correctly I would of tried doing a deal.

Oh and to add, I said to the guy if he could sort the registration of the car I would still be interested , it's no skin off my back ill wait until the right one turns up.

I'm a genuine honest guy , I want a genuine car . Make your own minds up I don't need to entertain this.

Just silly of someone coming on here calling me a timewaster when it's uncalled for

It is a shame the engine number has gone but with many people knowing VTI2010 on the forum im sure people know this is a genuine B18C, i also PGI checked the car today and it came up as a civic type R, whether he insured it as one is irrelavant really as it is registered properly. Hence why i left a depisit today :)

A reputable insurance company refused insurance because the cars incorrectly registered. I done a my text check on two cars on the forum his one comes up as Honda civic 1.6 the other car comes up as Honda civic 1.6 type r . I still have the message on my iphone .

I never said it wasn't a b18 , the car flys . Just for me I want my insurance to be legit.

I rang my insurance company (Admiral) earlier and there was no change of price between my ek9 and his ek9. It's the same with glanzas, they tend to be starlets on the logbook, ul find it hard to find one as a glanza, ive even seen some on the logbook as toyota corollas lol aslong as its insured as the correct car i cant see it being a problem myself.

2 sides to every story.

Mad max926 - If you know what you want then stick to it. The wait will be worth it!

If the seller is well known or not it should be stated in the add, removing engine numbers is causing more trouble in future

I will be same as Mad max926, there is no way I would touch the car without engine numbers

I have photos of me grinding the engine number off, jessie hit the nail on the head, anyone can tell its a b18c by how well it goes, and insaid to you that i was going to vet vac the seats the day you said you was coming but you decided to come a spare of the moment, your saying its not registered right, i can even get proof from the dvla that i filled out the documents correct. Its not my fault if you came down to tyre kick. When i said ring sky here and ill explain to them you made up some bullshit excuse that you need to ask you dad, HOW OLD ARE YOU!!! Come on your bigger and dumb enough to make you own calls and choices with out daddy telling you what to do. If you were worried about the car why did you proceed to come down knowning that you wasent going to buy it anyway, and why ask to go for a test drive surly if its not what you wanted you surly then why did you come all this way? Look at tge end of the day you a time waster couldnt fault my car and now you using because the seats were slightlyy dirt as its my daily and i did say that on the phone before you came, stop bullshitting the reasons to you not buying it is you just. Wanted a ride in a ek9. As this thread clearly states. But the car is sold now but surly if it was how you said id still have it, surly no one would want it? I have nothing to hide and i wasent fussed if it sold or not, as soon as i get the paper work through to register my pre-face ek9 that was going to be up for sale first but i didnt so this one has to go first unfortuantly.

Yes your right i wouldnt buy a car with no engine numbers no, but i would if it was someone off here that had a good rep and had been on here for years then yes. Ill upload the pictures later of the engine code being ground off to shut you up.

I came to view the car in good faith , I had a deposit with me. Half way on travelling to you I called my insurance , who refused to insure the car as it was showing on there system as a Honda civic 1.6, and not as a type r model. I then my text checked the car and got the same result.

I decided to still go and view the car, upon arriving the first thing I asked you was in regards to the registering of the vehicle and why it was showing as just a Honda civic 1.6.

Vosa do a lot of checks in my area , and with worst case scenario of another driver or myself having an accident insurance is paramount for me to have done legitimately.

I believe I was fully justified in making the decision not to take the risk of buying your car, it was mental fast and had some rare parts on it and it was shame that I had an issue with obtaining legitimate insurance . If the new buyer has managed to obtain insurance that is to their requirements then that's down to them. For me sadly I couldn't obtain what I was after, I don't believe this makes me a timewaster.

I never said the engine wasn't a b18 or that the engine was dodgy or stolen , I would have looked at registering the engine upgrade on the log book as like I said I do things properly. Again I would not have been able to do this without the numbers.

I'm don't appreciate being mugged off online, like I said I came with all intentions of doing a deal, I treat people as I would expect to be treated .

I don't need to entertain this

I remember you from the Uksc , burnyep91? If you got it insured and you got what you need then fair play, I couldn't get covered as my company said the cars not registered as a type r and that I needed to rectify this with dvla.

My Glanza said Glanza on the logbook.
I'm not saying the cars no good I just explaining my self I don't appreciate being mugged off online.

Yes thats me mate. I understand your concern about the car and as far as im aware it was the DVLA's mistake. The car has the correct chassis number stating 'EK9'. Thats the first thing il be sorting, i will also be printing off pictures of the b18 stamp being ground off for my car records along with a dyno print out for proof, thus preventing this trouble when i come to eventually sell. A build thread will be published in due course :)

Alright mate well fair play I wasn't slating the car or seller I just don't appreciate being called a timewaster when I'm not, I'm as genuine as honest as they come and don't appreciate someone trying to mug me off

Tbh i didnt even notice they didnt put type r on the logbook. I have insured it as a 1.8 civic type r as i have traders insurance so i can have up to 300bhp cars on my policy. The way you are talking that there is a major issue. I have rung the dvla today and they said send a letter explaining whats wrong with the details and they will amend it accordantly. The day i got the reg number through which was next day after registering it i insured it so there were no details on the data base, as it was a fresh reg number so i done mine all manually. All they have done is forgot to put in the model as there is no such thing as a honda civic 1.6, there needs to be a model code like, vti, lsi, type r ect. I seen a car adverised here registered as a honda accord. Thats when someones tried to cover up its a ek9. Im 24 with 8 years ncb so i think i have no need to hide its a ek9 to insurers. But no hard feelings in my eyes it just seemed like a stupid excuse and with this thread just makes sense you were time wasting, but hay thats just my opinion.

Just curious and I know it's deviating off topic but why was the engine number ground off?

As far as i am aware the engine was in a previous EK9 that was rear ended so for insurance reasons it had to be taken off. I have been supplied with pictures of it being ground off for future records.

Does say above he insured it as a 1.8 type r.
The plot thickens!
I'm just trolling now lol

It may well have been insured as a B18, the engine code may not have been noted on the logbook though...
