Other Civic forums

You'll be waiting a while! :))

Was wondering this. Are not all EK9's OBD2 ?

With Topher on this one. :nice:

All you have done since joining is complain about the condition of you EK9 and how you cannot sell stuff off on here

For one if you were genuinly intrested in EK9's then you would be just keepin quiet, scaning forsale section like a hawk and restoring it.

Instead you just want to break it to parts and sell if off to try and get your money back. Clearly all you care about is the fact you are not going to be able to get the money you want by selling it on here as you dont have enough post.

Ebay is were you belong. The Classifieds section on a forum is for and should stay for trusted members not people trying to make money.

To make things clear, I'm not complaining about this site although it appears the idiots have come out to play.... (Tropher, I doubt you speak for everyone, saying to move on - no need to be insulting)

I've never had a Honda before but I nearly bought an Accord Type-R about 5 years ago. I went onto hondacivicforum and found it a nice place. Went along to one of the local meets (Cardiff) and a few of the guys took me out in their cars (ATR, Civic with ITR engine and a Civi VTI). I had a good impression of Honda's and their owners, been meaning to get one for a while. I think things have changed since then. It seems a bit of a hip car for the sticker bomb brigade that I assume are all on civiclife.

I like this website and it's been very informative and useful for me. Owning a car that's never intended for your country is difficult so websites like this are important.

I don't think the 250 post thing is a particularly good idea for reasons already stated, doesn't make me some sort of bad guy rip off merchant like people seem to be suggesting.

you've already made it clear your intentions on hear is to sell parts/ break your car. You know the rules, deal with them, quite moaning when people give you grief.

If you read through my posts, I came on here as an EK9 owner looking for advice, breaking my car wasn't my original intention.

I struggle to see why anyone feels the need to give me grief.

Because people on here are enthusiast of EK9's and most decent honda's so when somebody joins their forum complains about what a shite EK9 they have bought and how they want to rip it to pieces and flog off the parts, but then starts slating the forum rules that are there for good reason just because you cant make re line your pockets.

If you look at it the way most people will see it you may aswell be slaping most people in the face. Especialy when you start calling well known regular members idiots.

Tough luck you have bought a cheap car and gues what its not perfect. What did you expect?!?!? So thats your problem not the forums.

I personaly dont see any reason why 250 post is a problem as this is a Forum to share info and discuss as a community. NOT an auction site for people to offload their crap just because this is the ideal place to sell.

It's pathetic if you ask me. He wants to break such a rare car because it has failed its MOT. GET REAL lol.

Ecsy, if you PM a moderator you could put the whole car up for sale, but not the individual parts. £3500 is realistic and if you take a bit less I would think it'd be worth losing money than having to remove bits, wrap them up, post them off, have a shell taking up space, meet people to sell parts, answer messages, haggle over pennies, end up with loads of left-overs no-one wants.

would you walk into a shop in town, complain about their prices and ask where else you can buy their products ?? if you don't understand my analogy, i really don't have any more time for you.

That analogy doesn't work. I'd say it's more like going into a shop, finding out what you want isn't available immediately and then asking if they know where else you can try.

There is nothing wrong with that.

come on dude, seriously can you not see why people are offended by what you are doing and or saying ? as Kieran pointed out - you may as well be slapping people in the face..

I am struggling to understand to be totally honest. "slapped in the face"?

Some of us maybe taking this whole forum thing too far if they feel upset or slapped in the face in anyway by the contents of this thread. Is there some sort of massive civic forum rivalry going on that i'm missing?

I haven't said "this forum is horrible, name me some better forums." I've asked if anyone knows somewhere which is suitable for me to advertise parts. That's not really a crime against EK9.org.

I did state my opinion about civiclife and I get the feeling a few people agreed with me. It doesn't mean anyone needs to get upset. I'm not on that forum anymore, why does my opinion matter to anyone from there?

I apologise to anyone that has been slapped in the face by me and my outlandish behaviour.

Tbh I thought the 250 post rule was much when I first knew of it, but now I think it is a good idea - it might fustrate people thinking they have to be on the forum a long time before they can post things to sell. But those how stick around will.

Cant you sell your stuff on pistonheads/gumtree etc no fees - does mean you have to answer phone calls. Why not get a mapable ecu, if your after a replacement one? I sure if you perist and really want to contribute, you can mak

Rules are there for a reason!! If you don't like it.....do one.

I didn't mean Tegiwa, I meant your 'lurker' account.

ZOMG, members on Facebook, oh, you mean 'likes'

Wow, so badass. Jealous.

Anyway, sure you have more important things to do. I know I do. You know where to find me if you want to whine some more.

:)

Full of cunts that reply like the above.
I told them that, hence why I got banned.
Bunch of moaning old women and chavvy idiots :)

I can see both sides of the argument tbh. Donating to a site should count for nothing if £20 could scam you thousands, but some sites it's not easy to get to 250 without seeming like spam, simply because there's not enough traffic! EK9 doesn't suffer from this however as there's always something to discuss.

the renault turbo forums that i use have the best way of doing things tbh, the joining fee is rather high at £25, but if your a real enthusiast you would pay it and once you paid it you can do wtf you want

it kept the chavs out for a start

Your not far away from 250 now thanks to this thread. :nice:

Having come from the MLR forum before this one, I do understand where you are coming from. I was a bit annoyed when I couldn't post up parts when I first joined, and I had a fair few nice bits. But after having been a member for a while now I realise the rules are there for a reason.

:nice:
