Well looking for new pads as i will be needing some soon. plus i think im going to nur so want something with more punch than standard

cheers,
matt

Right lol....

EBC Basic or black - Cheap as chips and to be honest they are about the same as OEM.
Bite - Better than OEM
Dust - Same as OEM if not a little less
Fade - better than OEM

I had thease on my old EJ9 and they worked a treat.

Greenstuff - Had thease on my old car, dont touch them i could rip a pair of pads in 5-6 months and the dust was hoW shall i say. CRAZY !!!!

Redstuff - Havent tried them myself but my mate has them on his celica and it stops on a penny. He recons there OK on fade but much better than OEM. Plus there not to dusty.

Yellowstuff - Again havnt tried myself but getting some soon as they are track pads that arnt impossible to use on the road E.G still bite ok from cold.

Bluestuff - Dont even touch thease unless your tracking it. There endurance pads and only really work when warmed up.

If your still driving the 1.4 just get Basic replacement pads i had these with EBC drilled and grooved and they stopped it very well. Re shoe your drums to m8 if they havnt been done in a while.

DONT GET GREENSUFF UNLESS YOU WANT TO OPEN A DUST FARM FOR DUSTY THINGS THAT LIKE DUST !

Hope this helps !!!

I use yellows for both track and daily drive. Good bite when cold, great when hot and low dust. I recomend.

Ben anderson - that was very helpful, so you suggest get EBC grooved discs but get standard pads with new shoes

To put it simple there shite ,standard honda pads are much better ,if you want a decent upgrade from the standard pads use ferrodo DS2500 or mintex 1144's or dixel's

Ive used red stuff on another car and they worked very well, although i found them not soo great when cold and needed a bit of driving before they really bit good.

Ive just replaced my rear dics for EBC and i needed pads quick so replaced with blueprint(OEM) and they work great to be fair.

When i next change my front i will probably go for yellow stuff as ive read a bit about and they seem pretty good. Price isnt terrible either compared to others.

x2, ebc are quite cheap for a reason.

stay away from there discs as well, they crack easily, would NEVER use them on a track.

the mintex or dixcels would be a far supreme choice, cant comment on the ferrodo as never used them.

even oem style mintex are better than ebc.

so most people agree mintex are better right?
where can i get these from?
and what price am i looking for.
remember i got a ej9

try a local motor factor, or google it

ill google it
i swear to god there are no places around me that know anything about this.
its all kwik fits and humphies that overcharge
they wanted £90 for a standard backbox once
i went on ebay got a much nicer one for £80

they should be ok on the rear:nice:

the ones i had were the grooved and dotted(drilled look a like)

I do know to stay away from the greenstuff pads. I never got to put the set I had through their paces, but apparently it's very hard to develop a pad transfer layer with them (proper bed in) and they are dusty. Not that dust should ever be a real deciding factor in pad choice.

My previous pads were red stuff they were ok a lot of dust though. I use Yellow stuff now and i think they are great !

I am using EBC Reds. Lots of dust but better than OEM on braking.

Im using EBC disks and OEM pads at the minute, done a track day on them and they felt superb

gonna upgrade to yellow struff pads this time around and see what there like!

The thing is Mat you have a 1.4 so your never gonna be doing more than 120 MPH realy and that would be very rarely. For what you want EBC would be fine i have used mintex and a few others and there not as crap as some would say.

Its up to you as with everything in life you get what you pay for.

I have had standard Honda pads and in all honesty i thought they were crap I could cook them so easily. Yer the Bite was good but i could cook them so quicly it wasnt worth it so nearly Died the first time they fadded. At the moment my 1.8 had standard pads and even on a spirited drive ( not flat out ) when i get out i can smell my pads and you can feel the heat as you walk past the wheel.

EBC OEM spec ones i had much better joy with but thats just my opinion.

If you have the money m8 of course by Dixcell, endless etc but you said before on another post your not rolling in money like im not either and for the price EBC done me proud.

Its not asif your tracking this car is it ?
