My Thunder Grey EJ9 !!! :D

yeh thats true, and leaves and such. would there be any point drilling the hole though if theres no actual feed?

well the idea is to get some nice cold fresh air, not really to get a flow, all the bumper and arch liners arent sealed anyway theres plenty of cold air under there. it wont make a huge diffrence to a 1.4 but it makes u happy lol. get a better fuel economy too.

Well yesterday i ordered myself a new headunit to replace my retro tape deck ;)

should be here by thursday at the latest :

then ill be able to listen to music through a decent unit that should produce better sound quality. anybody had one of these before?

Hello EK9'ers
Ive just had a front passenger side wheel bearing fitted by a family friend. not after it was done, my dad was telling the bloke how im looking to lower it on coilovers etc.
The fella said that it would be a very difficult job because of the amount of corrosion and all the bolts and bushes will be siezed and perished.

So i was wondering if theres is anywhere that you can buy a full suspension fitting kit. IE all the nuts, bolts bushes that are needed for the suspension on my EJ9. That way i wouldnt be bothered about damaging the ones that are on the current suspension. for example if a grinder was needed to sheer the bolts or blowtorch to melt the old bushes out?

Any info, pointer, help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

nice process
seen that glanza hes been trying to sell his rims for a while at a silly price

oh and with the coilovers, most of us soak them in WD40 and have a go
usually the the LCA bolts snap
luckily mine never
to avoid
soak in WD40 and be gentle when removing

cheers, just gotta try and free up all the supsension nuts and bolts ready for when i buy the coilovers. should be good fun...... lol

yeh its a pretty nice glanza tbh. not sure on the massive spoiler though...

well im just going for the hugely disregarded and insulted ebay coilovers.
i know they are not the best quality, but they were fine on my last ej9 for what i use it for and with a 3year warranty, if they break i WILL get a replacement.

so it will be slammed in the future. then i need to save up again for a little while to find myself a decent set of wheels for her.

well got to uni yesterday and what did i find in the carpark? a lovely low Altezza!
such a good looking car.

Lexus is2000 is one of my altime favourite looking cars. ill have one....one day!!

Anyway, got home from uni about an hour ago and decided i would tilt my spoiler, seeing as its free to do!

first, remove the boot trim inside the boot to reveal all the nut heads (4 in total)

Undo all 4 of the nuts using a 10mm ratchet/spanner/screwdriver

Now you can lift the spoiler off the outside of the car. do this. (it doesnt lift fully off as the brake light and rear washer pipe holds it to the car but should lift approx 15cm and you can then tilt it back to reveal the base of the spoiler).

Next, put 2 of the nuts back onto the threads of the spoiler (the two closest to the back of the car before placing the base of the spolier onto the car) :

Then slot the remaining 2 threads through the corresponding holes then tighten the nuts back on inside the boot. securing the spoiler back into place.

This should then leave your spoiler nicely secured and looking like this :
heres a before and after:

after:

And ther you have it guys.

Your spoiler tilt is not noticeable till your up close but as its free to do then its good. Also that Lexus IS looks good.

cheers mate. yeh i know its not very noticable, but its a subtle touch that will help bring it all together once its slammed, i mat tilt it further somehow, will have to wait and see how i feel about it. lol

well as i was uploading my last update yesterday, my new headunit arrived.

fitted it last night, although i did need an adapterlead from halfords for the wiring to work.

Im very impressed with the quality of sound from this headunit compared to the standard one. so much clearer and more of it! bass is alot better too.
very good buy i think :D
