looking good, don't they make a 2 piece rotor also? That would help reduce some unsprung weight :nice:

They do indeed.

These 6 slots are the 2nd product in the 4 rotor lineup

Plain
Slotted 6
Slotted 8
Slotted 2 piece

For road use Plain and Slotted 6 are fine, for occasional track and durable road use the Slotted 8's fit the bill. I never recommend 2 piece for EK/DC2 owners unless you are a very serious trackday fanatic running slicks or semi slicks otherwise its complete overkill on a light car.

The 2 piece rotors work a treat on DC5's however with either NR or HC+ pads.:nice:

What do you mean that the two piece are overkill for ek/dc? Like the benefit does not out weigh the cost?

Yes.. You are never going to get the full (or anywhere near 50%) potential out of the product on road or occasional track.. Most customers are very happy with the 8 slotted setup for track (me included).

You can only stop as well as tyres will allow and Type NR or HC+ (which is on the limit of being useable for both road and track) and 2 piece rotors with normal 195/55/15 road tyres will not give any better stopping power per £/$ spent than the setups I have mentioned above.. Save the difference and spent it on new lines, new fluid and bushes.:)

Got some of these on the way from vtec direct too mate :nice: to go on my EK4 though, can't wait :)

Are you referring to bigger than OEM two piece rotors, or just two piece rotors?

Hi Dino,

The Mu items are the same as size as OEM IIRC. We've got customers running these 2 piece on track cars with great results for both stopping power and endurance. No replacing the rotors after 2 ring trips:nice:

I would never spec 2 piece rotors on a daily driver or even a weekend car for just road. Its complete overkill.

Some of the other combinations on the market (albeit slightly cheaper) tend to wear out too fast (pads wearing down or rotors cracking) so although they are 20% cheaper they only last a few track days. Then you're back for more.

My NR's have been running for 4,500 miles now. 40+ laps of the ring, 1 x Donington and plenty of Moores driving, still plenty left:)

Another serious trackday customer is running Endless 4pot inch up kit on his DC2 96 and thats done something crazy like 14 trackdays on the same pads and rotors. Pads are running a bit low now and rotor has a minor hairline crack. And its not stupid money to change either pads or rotors. Good value for money:)

How much do the 2pce Mu rotors weigh vs. the 1 piece Mu rotors?
