Fair play for getting a car and getting onto the road.. From reading your other posts your only 17 so its the right car for you. Get some experience and in a year or 2 you can move up to a honda
Exactly
Hondas are made to be loved and to enjoy driving them
When you first pass and get a car your to worried of damaging it to enjoy it properly anyway
You don't wanna ruin your first Honda experience with worrying now do you
in all honesty mate you've gone about it the right way.if i had my time again i would have gotten something french and good on insurance and built up a couple of years no claims. faster cars will come and it's gonna be easier with ncb under your belt. 106's handle well and have good aftermarket support from the likes of pugsport so you could have chosen fair worse cars
congrats withe the car mate as said for ur first car will be a good run a round and when u get some more experience move over the years nad then buy a civic
I had a 106 as a first car. Yes, it was french and slow but it gave me less hassle in 3 years than my Civic in 1 year lol. They handle much nicer than my EK4 but the engines and gearboxes in Hondas are miles better, plus EK's are a lot comfier and spacious. I would however though love to see what a B16'd 106 is like one day though.
Well I know loads o people's who started off with smaller cars
And now theyre driving RX7's, EP3's. You gotta strt somewhere right? Just keep your head down n collect the ncd and in a year or two's time. You'll be rocking it
My first car was a Citroen Xsara 1.9 Diesel NON TURBO, your's will hardly be slower than that Then I got an MG ZR after that and I thought that Glasgow must have been bombarded over night, because in the Citroen you couldn't feel any potholes or bumps whereas the mg was quite hard, the French are hard to beat when it comes to comfort! BTW, as all guys above said, better start with something slow, I wrote off my grandads car when I was 18, because 6 months after passing my test I already thought I was getting better than Colin McRae... Even tho this is going to sound extremely stupid, I wish everyone had crashed when they were 18 with only the car being damaged and no one getting hurt, as it was the best thing that happen to me, really!
Anyway, wish you many happy miles, keep the car stock as that way it will retain its value and also allow you to save up for the Honda!
OP as others have said right now any set of wheels is a good start to building up your experience and no claims. Insurance for new drivers is a killer so save up your cash and put it away for when you've hopefully got a couple of years no claims and are more skilled behind the wheel. As for the "French" comments some people make it's utter ****, I've owned 3 French cars in the past including the supposedly abysmal GT Turbo and every single one was bulletproof.
Oh and don't waste cash modding the pug just put it away for the Honda.
