matt black


hope someone one will add to this thread as i want to paint my astra run around matt black
 
rite yeah ive seen it done on a eg before just wanna find out wot it looks like on a ek. what way you do it? Just out of a tin or wot and with what typew of matt paint? cheers jokeshopbeard
 
me and my mate painted his truck matt black at the weekend. smart at f**k
 
matt black is horrible mate :nono: i've seen it on and eg down here not really to my tastes, its your car tho bud :nice:
 
charlie's eg looks class i wanted to do this to my ej but never seen 1 with it done so didnt want to risk it. go for it davey be the 1st and only matt black civic on google images.

i'd say a lot can you get your hands on a compressor and a spray gun?
what paint are you gonna use?
and are u gonna put a lacquer(clear coat) on it?
 
ive been lookin it up theres a eg stage by stage on youtube. He resprayed it with matt black hammerite out of tin. but ive seen it with spray gun but you just
. rub down
. mask up well
. light dust coats over and over (it'll build up)
 
it has to be a certain type or i think it will come out crap.....I've done a little bit of reading as i hope to do my daily driver in matt black..it is supposed to be hard to look after because it has no lacquer on it/clear coat..
I think you can get a matt lacquar/ clear coat at least you can wash it and it wont chip as easy.
But this is only from what i have read not been talking to anyone about it yet

I went and got 24 tins of matt black paint today lol. Need to get alot of scuff pads tomorrow morning and some masking tape. Ill take pics at different stages to let yous see how it turns out.
 
deffo take loads of pic as you go along very interested in this.
Did the tins of paint cost you much, are you gonna put a clear coat on it?
 
cant believe your actually going to use spray cans to paint your car.... all i can say is WOW. get it done properly. or get it vinyled. not as expensive as you might think and it will look nice.... if its your pride and joy that is
