Low position seat rail

Old thread i thought i would bring back to life...

Max did you end up getting a low rail?

Are there any other suggestions from anyone?

Yeah, ended up getting a second hand set in the end, only way I could justify a set as the new ones are just too expensive!!

I've got a Feels one, its great quality and locks both sides. Lowers the same as the spoon one too i believe.

Only problem i found is that it puts it too flat on the floor, so you have no support under your leg. Kind of feel like your are sitting on the floor.

what pair did you go for, where did you get them from and what price did you pay. Im so close to ordering a pair off vtec direct come to around £340 :(

Really do want them though.

Got the Spoon's - 150 notes and my OEM rails in P/X. £340 is a lot, but man, you can't beat these rails...

Mod a DC2 integra rail to fit if you can't get hold of a spoon/vision rail, they sit about an inch lower than standard rails yet still maintain some incline on the base so you don't loose any support

I run my passenger seat like this and sitting in the car you can barely see over the dash and i'm 6'2" haha, ran the drivers side like this before i got a fixie seat and it was grand

Thanks for the reply lads.

Max,

Yes that is alot but im not intending to spend huge amounts more on on civic at the moment so i dont mind spending a bit more for the little things.

Steven,

How much do DC2 seat rails normally go for each? And how much modifying is required? Im always messing about with cars and i sometimes feel spending the extra money is worth saving the effort :(

Ive just found a pair of DC2 rails for £120 delivered. I did realize these were much lower then the EK9 rails?

Never done it myself Dan but have read that it's one of the rear bolt holes that doesn't line up. A little time with a file, or something like a Dremel tool if you have one, should sort it right out (I think the hole needs to be lengthened to meet the EK9 mount point)

Ahhh, If thats all it is then i dont mind spending some time doing that if its gona save my on the wrong side of £200!

Is this 100% all that needs to be done to fit the DC2 rails? Have you got a link to the brief of it? Im just a bit worried i spend the money buying and then its more hassle then i can be bothered with.

The spoon/vision ive been told lower it by 50mm. Thats a decent amount more then an inch. And i really loved the position of the spoon when i jumped in Ians car that time...... hmmmmm decisions

DC2 rails, 3 of the 4 mounting points line up perfect

It's the rear mount closest to the handbrake, bolt hole is JUST out by not even an inch, very easy to mod

Iv had two of those modified DC2 rails on two seats now, give a very good seating position. Well a good seating position for a non fixed bucket

Right cheers for the info lads, great help. Rep added

I ended up buying the 2 DC2 Rails for £120 delivered. I hope i like them. I just couldn't bring myself to spending £345 on 2 seat rails.

Wow £340 is a shocking price for these rails. Did I say; I bought some of these from jhpusa.com 3 years ago and it was £115, pair, delivered ! I've still got them aswell. they are in my brothers car.

EDIT: Yeah i mentioned it already, I just looked back lol.

some good info there.. only have one recaro myself out of a evolution iv.. made up brackets for it but was for too low! as in on the floor i am 6'5' and could just about see over the dash !! may look into getting a dc2 rail and modify it now!
