ITG maxogen airbox

You've just proved everything we've been trying to explain to you (have a read of the 2nd image concerning brake horsepower) ;)

Gross horsepower is not a true measurement, it is just an "estimate" i.e a guess

Theoretically, with no friction and maximum efficiency, you could probably see over 300hp from a B16B. It this possible though? No, as it's just a number thrown out of thin air.

The way you describe about changing other bolt-ons such as intake/header etc not increasing power, then the same can be said for camshafts as well then. They won't increase the power at all, as all it is doing is increasing the efficiency i.e taking the power level closer to the max. potential of the head.

As far as horsepower measurements stand, there is only one number that is used as a baseline, and that is the manufacturers quotation of brake horsepower i.e 185bhp

jugbugs the point your trying to make is valid however it is only theoretical and has no real world use or application, i'm not trying to argue here, i just think your getting in a bit over your head, i know you have read and researched a lot, just cause something is written down, does not make it valuable or relevant information. and arguing with such information is not going to accomplish anything.

My appologies to Mfactory and Ragingangel.

Sorry guys, I got some of my facts twisted, was a bit confused with SAE Gross HP.

No problems blinx, you dont have to worry anymore, I'll keep quiet from now and let you do the postings.

blAh... it was a good debate... refreshing to get a little bit of tech going :)

Hahahahaha...i thought it was going to end up in a fight.
So back to the topic ...is the ITG maxogen filter worth it? The australian tuner in HK (HDI) did mention that my Simota 3" piping is sufficient for a power increase if tuned properly :) We will see on Thursday.

nothing ends up in a fight here ;) jugbugz has been around for a loooong time :nice:

JDM Honda engines are mapped for higher octane (99 RON +) but the UK doesn't have high actane fuel, so our cars are mapped for 95 RON (although I only used 97 RON and now 99 RON for better engine life, performance and fuel efficiency)
So maybe that would contribute to a dip in power??

WHAT THE F***
you say the U.K doesn't have high octane fuel then you say you use 97 - 99 ron .
i've been putting 97 RON in my cars for 3 years now and 99 RON has been about fdor a good 2 years

SHELL V POWER - 99RON
BP ULTIMATE - 97 RON
