So as the title says, my cars hunting when its warm, but fine when it cold. I've checked for vac leaks and the brake cleaner test didn't reveal anything. I've bled the coolant, the thermostat took about 45 mins to open but the air bubbles cleared after that, so thinking that's bled fine.

I'm thinking it may be IACV? Any other suggestions? Would rather have a good guess to go on than just randomly buying parts!

Cheers!

Definitely clean out iacv if not already done. Have you checked dizzy?

We tried cleaning it a few weeks back but it was still on the car, may take it off and try that again!

What should I check on the dizzy? We think that might be faulty due to another issue i'm having (engine swaps are fun they said...).

Thanks for the help! I'm fine with everything else but I'm new to B series stuff haha

Here's a guide for cleaning iacv

As for dizzy check all leads connected properly. Take of cap, you will be able to see condition and rotor condition. Replace both if necessary.
I had a similar issue to you, hunting missfiring when warm.
When I took cap off there was soot, coil had probably blown, and rotor had a crack in it. Weird thing is engine was fine when stone cold. Good luck mate.

Check your O2 sensor, New O2 sensor fixed my problem with hunting idle.
Makes sense that it doesn't do it when cold as it runs rich until warm.
I got this one

Best deal I could find

Awesome, thanks for that! I've got a spare so I'll chuck that on and see if that fixes it :) Its running rich ATM, can smell it!

Thanks for the link dude!

I checked all that before we fitted the engine but 'll look again tomorrow to see if anythings changed since we fitted the engine. The leads are new so it shouldn't be that...

Thanks for the help guys!

I would say the IACV man.
If you need to try any sensors or anything like that I've got a B16 in the garage you're welcome to try some parts to eliminate any problems. The engine is hydro locked but all sensors etc are fine just the internals are up **** creek haha

I did have a spare coolant temp sensor in the garage, although I'm not entirely sure if that could cause your issue.

Sorry m8 what engine is it ? Year ? Do you have fitv?

Awesome thanks man, appreciate it! Don't suppose you have a spare IACV do you? Haha

Yeah I kinda ruled that out because it's still displaying on the gauge correctly?

check o2 sensor mate.

Will do man, I've got like 4 spares so thats something I'll do when I get a chance!!

**** left out the most crucial info! Its a B16A2, not sure on the age of the engine as it's a conversion. Yeah it has an FITV!

Are you sure you have a fitv? Not usually on b16a2's, I'm sure it's more a usdm thing or b16a1.
The fitv looks like another iacv that bolts on the bottom of the throttle body.

Have you tried clamping the pcv valve hose with a pair of mole grips?

Coolant gauge uses another sensor Rippu.

Yeah man I've got a spare IACV. Literally took the engine out and replaced it, never took anything off the engine itself :)

Thought b series had fitv before 96 models ,could be a different inlet as it's a b16a2,
But if you say it has a FITV follow this steps
http://honda-tech.com/acura-integra...your-fitv-aka-fast-idle-thermo-valve-1564019/
Also check pcv or just block it off to eliminate it .
You gage will show car hot as it's just the gage sender,
It's the ect sensor that sends signal to ecu for idel also.
So ,you have no air leaks,
Then can only be 1 air in the coolant.
2 iacv
3 fitv
4 pcv
5 ect sensor
6 o2 sensor
Just start with the simplest and work your way to the fix ,
If all them fail look at ecu .

Could be right, could be obd0 and obd1 rather than just b16a1's that have fitv.
Either way you can switch to a different TB and do away with it

I'm 99% sure I have the FITV, I'll check tomorrow when it's light. I remember there being a coolant hose going to the bottom of the TB, where it would be.

Nope not tried that! What would that do? I'll try that!

Every day is a school day haha. I'm assuming the coolant temp sensor is the one in the thermostat housing yeah?

Legend! I'll try a different lambda then give you a shout if that doesn't work?

Awesome thanks for that man. The inlet manifold is a Skunk 2 one and it was loose when we got the engine so the TB could quite possibly be off a different car fro the engine.

I think the ECU should be ok, it's an OEM one (no chip), so gonna rule that out for now, but will get started on the other bits!

Yeah there was an OBD1 loom on the engine originally so that may be it. Think that'll get done at some point, less to go wrong haha

Stock ECU?

Yeah dude!

Also does anyone know if the lambda's off my D14 would work on this engine? Its a 4 wire one, same as the B series one. Reason that I'm asking is that I know that thats a good one!

Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated!

As long as it's the same o2 that on your car ,it's ok ,ie 4 wire.
Just start with your iacv at back of your inlet ,
Clean that and dry it and see if that works ,
P's buy new gasket for TB also
