Have just charged the battery on the EK9 today and a weird thing is happening.

Car starts perfect, sounds sweet, but take it out of gear and take your foot off the clutch and the car starts to move forward very slowly. Its freaking me out. Also the same happens when you start the car without your foot on the clutch. Put the brake on and its stops without stalling.
Whats going on ????

You can see what it does here.

Possessed.. get the priest on it

Lol, sorry i couldn't be of much help but that is some random thing! This is from the track car if i'm correct right? maybe some sort of hyper lsd or clutch or something lol

I can only think there is a problem with your clutch/gearbox..... Somehow your clutch is engaging gear without being in gear.... If you accelerate without being in gear will it go forward?

I cant see this haveing anything to do with the battery.......

I could be wrong, just seems strange.

Oh i know its not the battery, i only mentioned that as its the 1st time we have started it up since charging it. Possibly the clutch then?

I take it your car goes through all the gear's ok when driving?
I cant see this being a clutch problem IMO, the car has to be in gear some how for it to move!
Does the car move if you start it up out of gear with the clutch in?
Does the gear box make any noise when doing this or when driving normaly?
I can see why you confused about this, i have never come across this befor?????????
I will have a good think about it though!

Have you found out what this is yet?
Would really like to know the out come of this prob!

have you checked your gearbox oil?
sounds like something is binding slightly maybe due to lack of lubrication..
most cars do this if they'r jacked up running and out of of gear the wheels will rotate but can easily be stopped, just seems like yours is taking a bit more to stop it!
cant be selecting gear by it self else it would stall.

Haven't looked into it too much, have had so many different ideas of what it could be. Gonna ring TGM and see if he knows.

How long has it been sitting for?
Have you checked your gearbox oil and then gave it a good run?

I'm dying to know what this is :angry2:

Thats totally fine, it is just the motion of the gears spinning in the box and the oil between them drags the gears on the output shaft. This will show its self alot more at this time of year due to cold thick oil first thing in the morning. Nearly all cars with good free running brakes when jacked up will and running will spin the wheels. :)
It is the same sort of thing as when you are gliding on you push bike, lift your feet off the pedals and they will turn slowly. :nice:

So dont worry about it.
