Flat spots during Acceleration?

Hi folks,

I'm finding that there is momentary loses off power between 3000 and 4000 RPM.

I've got a facelift VTi and I'm currently running an SIR Engine with the VTi ECU. Could this be the cause?

A flat spot could be a few things mate. Lack of spark at that rev/lack of fuel at that rev.

The ECU "could" be a cause if they are different(which i dont know)......
 
When was the last time new plugs were put in the engine?
 
sounds like a fuel starvation to me , is the ecu your using chipped? or is it a direct fit to your engine ?

The ECU isn't chipped it's the standard Vti ECU but I'm running an SIR engine. I'm thinking that because the Jap models are programmed for higher octane fuel that it may be running differently than it should?

I will check the spark plugs first anyway... See what comes up...

Ye I checked that the other day and seemed fine... I'll be giving her a good service over the weekend...

Going to pick up some HT leads and Iridium plugs, and do an oil service, hopefully she'll be running sweet again :D
