EK9 vs GSi

My mate just bought a Corsa GSi, completely standard apart from rear stripped. It's a 1.6

I'm not getting insurance until April on my EK9, and he claims he'll wipe the floor with me.
I've read somewhere that the Corsa GSi is only 110BHP...

I think he's out of his league, and should swim back to the shallow end of the pool, maybe use the arm bands.
Maybe if I owned a 1.2 Zetec Fiesta... Then he may be right.

But does anyone know if the GSi is really 110BHP? :nice:

Im ashamed to say I used to own a 1600 sport (same engine as gsi only has a cat) maybe 2bhp less than gsi.

Nothing on the car comes close to my ek9.

Even if u changed gear at 6000rpm before vtec u would leave him standing.
 
Cheers mate, even though he said he'll wipe the floor with me. I wouldn't race him anyway. On paper is just goes to show.
 
the only way he will have a good chance at beating you is if you race with one gear. reverse. :D

a good fit 16 16 sport corsa with few mods are right and sharp all the same, woudl def give any ek4 a good run
 
My mate had one of thease and my 1.4 Ej9 gave it a good run for its money and that was 90bhp a 185bhp EK9 will eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner !

At the end of the day when he tries to lanch at more than 4k rpm it will blow a gasket or somthink i used to own an astra never again bits and bob's allways going wrong.
 
them wee corsa sports have a deadly engine noise when using an induction kit and a janspeed exhaust lol cool wee car for when your 17 or 18

2ltr redtop corsas aint slow.if its a healthy 1 it will be close with a ek9
 
lol, my dad has a corsa GSI 1.6 i drove home with him when i picked up my EK4 and he had no hope in hell in keeping up mate. the ek9 will without a doubt nail the gsi anytime anywhere.
 
lol so badly at this thread!!!

My friend has a 1.4 SRI and i literally blow him just take my car to 6K REVS! and that has 85BHP but is a bit lighter.

My other mate had a corsa 2.0litre red top engine with about 160BHP and i still had an edge over him AND his car was stripped out!!

So i wouldnt even waste your petrol on a GSI

Please do. Let him get the impression as if he might really win. Then if he has that car say "Now, let's see how hard I lose", then completely wipe the floor with him and laugh as he doesn't know what to say :D
