Ek9 or ep3????


Lol we love abit of ep3 whip-age on this forum lol
 
My B18C EK9 kept up with a FD2 on the ring from about 90-100 right up until about 135-140 I was in his slip stream and he did pull on me in the end and dissapeared my miss's said she saw 155 on my clocks. B18 EK9 very capable.
 
A buddy of mine has a eg k20 setup and I can outrun it with my 2500lbs b18c5 coupe, mostly due to the gearing im running. So I agree the B is very capable.

an EK9 with a k20 would be the winner for sure over a similar ep3, mechanically the EK9 suspension is superior over the ep3.

I had a 248bhp EP3 and I loved it. It was completely different to the ek9 though much more refined. I prefer a the rawness. Now the ek has a k24 though it's a different animal all together
 
B20 set up in an ek will outrun a ep3 anyday, and ek9 are holding there value were as ep3 price is droppin by the hour
 
My brother told me he wanted an ep3 the other week the damn fool!
He was going to start saving for his dc2 And has now changed his mind!

Different price tag all together though,

Uk EP3's can be had for 2k - 3k the JDM version, well there was one for sale on this forum and it was north of £7k..

Definitely a better car though, more power and an lsd to name just a few parts :nice:

I think if i was to ever ever go Ep3 it would be the JDM version.
 
I've gone from Dc5 to Ek9 and assume from what i've heard & read, that dc5 is a fair bit better than Ep3. I prefer my Ek9 to Dc5 on B roads, it's rawer, smaller & more communicative, Dc5 deffo better on Motorways tho due to bit more refinement & 6th gear. Ep3's are good value at around the £2-3K mark tho..
As pretty much everybody has said, try them & you'll know straight away which one you want.. This is ek9.org so it's inevitable what opinion you'll get here! Ek9's are cult cars imo :)
 
I was in the exact same situation.. 2 weeks ago i was going to sell my 9 to get an ep3. but i made the right decision and kept the 9. Its an iconic car and youl will get attention everyhwere you go.

the handling is abslutly phenominal and s**ts all over an ep3. fair enough there not as fast at the top end but the 9's arent meant for top speed.

i also personally think the b-series cross over is so much better than the k-series, boring, a bit flat imo.

You can get awesome deals on 9's to ! keep your eyes open.

but Ek9 FTW!
 
Ek9 hands down but I must say its a annoying daily, got to watch out for bolsters ect.

I have a tidy ep3 for sale 05 plate 59k full honda history few light mods let me know if its any intrest to you???
