Ek9 or ep3????

Okay using the 3 examples make them work?
Say you make
Fn2 trump dc5
Fn2 trump s2k
Where with the 3 examples can the fn2 be trumped like Rock Paper Scissors?
See where i am going?
Was just making the game work not stating which is best, I know nothing about the fn2 and not giving it like I do.

We are all talking about the fD2 NOT the fN2.
Very different cars :))
Nsx is only car that 'trumps' the fd2 :)

EP3 has many manufacturing faults!

AND I MEAN LOADS!

Worst Honda i have owned!

I have had

2 EG's
3 EK's
1 EP

NEVER AGAIN!

Like oil starvation issues on track, valve stem seals, RTA bushes and drop links, bolster wear, arch rot, lost motion assemblies, weak distributors and leaking rear light seals? :naughty:

.... 98 Spec Dc2 ? Going for a good price at the moment, best of both worlds wouldn't you think. Just throwing it out there, surprised no one mentioned it.

But back on topic, Ek9 hands down. Rare, sexy, fun and lots of potential! If you really want more power you can always swap and reduce the price greatly by selling the B16b. I see Ep3's everyday and a friend has one, great daily's and a good bit of poke but not very highly thought of, just got everyone wanting to race you to say they beat a Type R ¬_¬

How much money do you actually have to spend? If you have enought for an EK9 then get it but there's 2k difference in price

2nd gear will not engage caused by 5th and 6th syncro (mainly when cold)
Steering racks failing
Windscreen sounds like it is letting air into the cabin
Engine rocks loads and can be very annoying
Engine hesitates (very common) seems to be magnified when modded
When it rains its impossible to keep windows clear without requiring heaters on full hot and windows open plus heated rear windscreen! Very uncomfortable!

Just a few that spring to mind. It will ruin your Honda experience.

I have experienced none of these except 2nd gear problems but mine has got 100,000 miles on the clock with 6 different owners
Just saying

One of the lucky ones then I think. I have found lots owners experiencing these issues. I have even received emails asking if I have solved some of the issues. Namely the hesitation.

so basically the real question is ek9 or dc5 as you can buy both for around 6k

DC5 and EK9 are so different that all it will take is a test-drive for you to know which one you want.

I wouldn't say they are that different, dc5 is a closer match/feel to the ek9 than the ep3.
manual power steering pump helps that feel and the stiffer suspension and better 4 pot brakes all contribute not to mention the extra poke and lighter chassis.

oh and lsd

I would buy a DC5 if I was doing it now. My only concern would be the engine issues I stated above being carried through to the teg. My mates DC5 was great I really liked it.

It did lack the feel/connection I have with the 9 but still a great car!

I never a had problem with my EP3, my brother owns it now and neither has he, and it's relatively high mileage at 86k without needing a new clutch, gearbox etc. It's a fantastic car in my opinion and if you watch it fly around the Nurburgring overtaking the 911's on the video I saw a while back it's a very capable car on the track too with the right driver.

well after owning a ek9 and tracking it round the ring etc id never go back after the dc5 but then again ive not had a chance to put it on track yet lol

So in a nutshell the only way you will know is going out and trying them!
Make sure you look at equal examples of each though ;)

Just to add- fd2 is 1 second quicker around tsukuba and 4 seconds quicker around Suzuka compared with the dc5.
These tests were carried out by honda.

On the other hand the dc5 is 1 second quicker than the dc2 around tsukuba. Food for thought.:)
