I want to now, hands down whats the best?

Ep3 or ek9??

Handling?

Proformance?

Looks?

Maintenance?

Interior?

Stock parts?

Aftermarket parts?

Personal preference.
End of.
Ep3 is more refined and comfy.
Ek9 is more raw and involving. Ek9 is slower, but handles sharper.

Huge aftermarket scene for both models.
It's down to personal preference and where your using the car/what for

I have owned both chassis, i can personally say they are both great cars no matter which you choose. I loved my EP3 when i owned it, but what they say is true. Due to the changes in suspension design going from the EK9's Double Wishbone to the EP3's McPherson, you do notice the difference in handling. I currently own an EM1 (USDM Civic Si) which is about as close to an EK9 you can get without dumping money into an EK4 chassis. Downside to the EK9 is the B16A's limited torque capability, but if you have the money to convert to a K20A or K24 it makes for a real monster!

If you're looking for a daily that's sporty to drive yet practical for daily routine i say get the EP3. Best daily i've owned! Plus you have the benefit of the K20A engine.

If you're looking for an all out handling machine go with the EK9. Lighter weight, better suspension design, and unlimited corporate backing.

Most of you are all very lucky to be living in Europe to where you're able to get your hands on whichever chassis you like. Here in the United States we are limited and are forced to spend money on trying to convert them from the watered-down USDM versions to the all-out Type Rs.

The engine in the EP3 is soooooooooo much better than the B16b, I really really missed the torque when I went from a K20a2 to a B16b.

Personal preferance but the handeling in the ek is far better. And the b16 is still a cracking engine imo, i personaly wouldnt choose an ep3 over an ek9 purley for the k20

Wouldnt be buying either untill i drove them both, the ek9 is a bit of an aquired taste.

I absolutely know what you mean! Anytime i get on a track with good elevation change, there is always an uphill corner where it feels as if the B16 is falling flat on it's face.

^ you need gearing dude.
K20 isn't that amazing, In an ek9 its amazing yes but not in an ep3. IMO obviously.

As much as i would love to upgrade my gear ratios, due to the rules of most competitive classes here in the U.S. i'm restricted to OEM gear ratios.... I can only swap final drives, and this is planned for next winter when i'm able to rebuild my transmission.

In ireland at the min there is only about 1000e in differance of 2 but wath im getting from the replys k20 in the ek9 is the option to go for. Icetronix do a k20 swap for 5000e but heard a few horror storys from there .

if you want a track toy and the occasional weekend drive, I would say EK9. If you daily the car I would go for the EP3
